Welcome to our ’Intermediate Skills’ collection.

In the last twelve months we have had more questions on how Kay produces her yarn cakes than anything else! So today we are delighted to share with you a complete tutorial for how Kay uses her KnitPro Ball Winder and KnitPro Swift.

Join Kay as she:

  • Shows you how she sets up her ball winder and swift
  • Demonstrates what she does with her yarn prior to placing it on the swift
  • Shows you how to prepare the yarn prior to beginning winding
  • Talks you through how she gets a really neat looking yarn cake
  • Demonstrates how she winds her yarn
  • Shows you what to do if you want to pull from the centre or the outside of the finished cake of yarn

Thank you Kay for the video. Your ball winder looks big. Would it be big enough for a skein a worsted skein?

You could stand the other side of the table Kay. Then the winder would be correct 🤔
