Welcome back to our 'Design Diary' series!

Last month saw Kay release one of her most challenging patterns ever in the Amore Socks. This new sock pattern was the first time she had released a sampler pattern. So in this episode of 'Design Diary' join Kay as she shares with you how she approached this challenge.

Join Kay as she:

  • Discusses the challenge of designing a sampler sock pattern
  • Describes what a sampler pattern actually is
  • Talks through the inspiration behind the design
  • Takes a look at her now finished design book
  • Talks a little about a secret project she is currently working on
  • Discusses her yarn choicesfor the sampler socks - http://www.cascadeyarns.com/cascade-Heritage.htm in camel & strawberry cream
  • Talks through why the pattern needed to be released in one size not her usual three sizes
  • Reflects back on the ‘Valenvent’ celebrations we all enjoyed in the Patrons Private Facebook Group

So much fun seeing how you think through your design process. Great pattern! Loved knitting these. Already using the individual designs in other socks. Thank you!🥰

Haha I'm just catching up a bit slowly and I got a mention! I think because the colours were pale on the colour changing yarn, it worked quite nicely. And there was quite big chunks of each colour. Looking forward to advent now. Xxx
