Oh Kay, I really feel for you. I went to see my doctor about my anxiety about 2 years ago, triggered by a particularly traumatic event. He asked me what I did for a living and then promptly told me to seek help privately before writing me prescription for strong anti-depressants. I didn’t take the anti-depressants, I didn’t feel like I was ever depressed. It’s taken me until now to seek that help privately and I have seen a counsellor in this last month face to face and I can honestly say the first hour on it’s own felt like a huge weight was lifted off me. I really don’t think it would have been the same if it had been over the telephone or zoom unless I had already built a relationship up with her, fingers crossed for face to face meetings to continue.

Doing things that make you happy and avoiding known triggers.......is huge.
