Welcome to back to our 'Stitchy University'

Following on from Kay's introductory video, we are so excited to return with Kay's beginners guide to hand embroidery. Over six videos she will share with you the main stitches which will be used in the main Stitchy U course which commences on the 26th of July. These videos are designed to show complete beginners the techniques Kay will be using when the main course begins.

In this video Kay will:

  • Show you what long & short stitch looks like
  • Demonstrate how to sew long & short stitch
  • Explain when you might use this technique

This one made me think about ‘ooooh, I hate pooling’ … so varying the long and short randomly will keep the stitch lengths from pooling.

I used this technique to give texture to the little door of the mushroom house. Fun fact, if you do the door in brown and look at it upsided down; it looks like Baby Groot winking at you. I just can't stop seeing it. lol
