Welcome everyone to the official pre launch information for our next 'Patron Exclusive Event'

We are so excited to announce it is just a few weeks until the start of 'Valenvent'! In this post I am going to give you some information so that you can start gathering your supplies if you’re joining in with the event.

  • Valenvent 2024 will run from the 1st-14th February 2024
  • This years 'Valenvent Design' will be available to download from 5pm GMT on the 1st February 2024 by ALL Patrons
  • Four exclusive videos will accompany the pattern which will also be available to ALL Bakery Bear Patrons

This years design is called ’The Valenscarf’ and it uses mini skeins, along with a co-ordinating colour. I’ll note below the amounts of yarn and the notions that you will need.

  • 4.5mm 16 inch circular needle. The gauge that I got is 6 stitches and 7 rows to one inch (yarn is held doubled).
  • One stitch marker.
  • Two double pointed needles or long circular in 4.5mm (this is just used for grafting stitches at the end).
  • 14 x 20g (85m) of fingering weight yarn in the colours of your choice.
  • 50g (approximately 200m) of fingering weight yarn in a contrasting colour.

I used mini skeins that I purchased from 'Lay Family Yarn', from the 'Pick and Mix' range. These come in 10g skeins so I used 2 of each colour. For my contrast yarn I used Malabrigo Ultimate Sock in ‘Cote D’Azure’.

Kelly has very kindly put some kits together in the colours that I used, and also included a 50g skein that she dyed in a similar shade to the Malabrigo.

She has offered us a discount of 15%, using the code BBVALENVENT (all upper case). This code is valid from midnight 9th January to midnight 31st January (UK time). You can find the kits listed on the Home Page as ‘Kay’s Favourite Pick and Mix’. https://layfamilyyarn.co.uk

I have attached a photo of the yarn, along with a little sneak peek of the scarf itself.

There is no obligation to use the same yarn that I have. This scarf is a great way of using some of the mini skeins and leftovers that you will already have in your stash. Just ensure that your co-ordinating yarn is a nice high contrast to your 14 chosen yarns.

We can’t wait to see you on the 1st February 2024 for the start of Valenvent!! If you are a Silver, Gold or Platinum Patron and you use our 'Patrons Private Facebook Group', there will be lots of community chat throughout the event and before no doubt! ALL Patrons do feel free to share your pictures on Instagram using the hashtag BBValenvent24

Just went stash-diving the other day and found a selection of colors that I'm excited to knit up!
