Everyone rags on Dynamite, Butter, and PTD, saying that they aren’t representative of BTS. But I disagree! Heartily! Every single song, every single genre, every single era, is representative of BTS. These songs came at a time where the whole world needed something to lift them up. And that’s what the purpose was in these songs. They weren’t planned. But BTS did what they needed to do in the Covid circumstances. I am offended when I hear people say that their English songs are not as good as their Korean songs. And you hear so often that they never should have made English songs. But I don’t know why English songs are a copout, and Japanese songs aren’t. I love them all, and I think they should all get their due. Even if a particular song is not something you would normally listen to, it’s still BTS, and it’s still their hard work. (Can you tell this is a sore spot for me!! Haha) Hopefully I won’t offend anyone with my opinion!! Thanks again for a genuine and fun reaction!! 💜💜💜

I adored all of the JF week performances, but Mikrokosmos is my fave. I have to say, I’m struggling this week with the news of their enlistment and glad my therapist is also a fan (whcih is a hilarious synchronicity since I chose him for the fact he doesn’t live in my area - as a psychologist myself, it’s always weird to run into clients and your own therapist in town - the fact he’s a fan was so utterly strange and also wonderful). Your reaction is an absolute balm to my soul. These videos remind me so much of the brightness they brought during the Pandmic and watching someone else loving on them just makes me smile. So, thank you. It’s a silly thing to be sad about, and Im also relieved we know now, but it’s good not to be alone with it.

I agree 100%. I think they had fun with these, even if the songs felt like they were being done for the wrong reasons. PTD a just makes me smile and the Butter video was such a swagger mood.

Tara 100% I know what you mean, I didnt watch the 2022 dinner they did because I didnt feel like as a new fan I had that relationship with them to really feel sad from that news... this is my first real feeling of heartbreak being a fan of theirs and I have so many thoughts on it, I just want you to know that even though it is a crazy time and maybe a little silly for us to be sad about, we're all in this together and I feel blessed to have ARMY to feel these things with too :)

I don't understand why people are so upset about just three English songs when other kpop groups have released full English albums. I guess people just love to hate the successful. Even if they released a full English album, it would still be amazing. Dynamite, Butter, and PTD were bops that, as you said, did what they needed to do during the pandemic. Those songs helped get me down the BTS rabbit hole!

Yeah to be honest I think the place many who would down Dynamite or Butter or PTD are coming from is just not knowing or assuming things, thats how I was, but honestly even while filming this reaction I was like I genuinely LOVE this song! its such a feel good song and it was what we needed WHEN we needed it! I think some more RapLine fans would automatically not like this because they think its more Pop but its An amazing song and I feel a way every time I hear it so I wish everyone would give it a chance

(The people I hear saying these things the most, are OG army. They feel like the early stuff that BTS did is more representative of BTS. But BTS themselves will say that their music has changed along with them. From boys, to men. They still Rap. They still do hip hop. Just not the same way they did as teenagers)

I also still haven't watched the 2022 Festa dinner. I got into BTS around the end of December 2021 and I just didn't feel like that dinner was for me. I'm still ambivalent about the military announcement. I know that the guys have immense cultural pride and that they have always said that they would be doing their military duty. I trust that they will come back in 2025. If anything, this gives me two years to catch up on almost ten years of media and music! There is so much content from them that I still haven't seen all of their music videos still! I've got a ton of RunBTS episodes to watch, I have Bangtan Bombs to watch...I'm gonna be busy while the boys are away!

FYI John, I believe the amazing harmony on Idol was our boy Jimin! And I have to agree, Mikrokosmos was AMAZING on Jimmy Fallon- legit breathtaking!

Jodi Yamagata

Thank you! John, I enjoyed your reaction as always. BTS always do amazingly when they perform live. 🥰

Alison Renaud

Okay if you like Idol and Mic Drop this much please please please you gotta react to this one performance from Speak Yourself Final in Seoul!!!! THIS IS THE MOST INSANE TRANSITION FROM MIC DROP TO IDOL EVER IN THE HISTORY OF BTS!!!! https://youtu.be/gMTHl2A7164 It still gives me chills and I dont understand how they can just keep going and going and this is after 2 hours of the rest of the concert before this!!! It will BLOW YOUR MIND!!

Ashley Mahler

When will you be watching Will it fit? I think that one went along with the interview about what they were like in high school?

Cheryl Lambert

I watch all the late night talk shows and I’ve always missed them so when I discovered them last year I was like what the heck! I love all the performances because each time their is a little change, something special so no song ever gets old for me. It’s nice to hear that your friends aren’t freaking out at you now when you talk about BTS and not giving you all the flack like in the beginning. Get them to sub to your channel and they can see what they’re missing. 🤗💜🇨🇦

nolo nolo

I like all of the jimmy fallen performances that the guys did on that show...also you can see how jimmy loves BTS as well.

Debra Gromacki

this is a historical site and they were being very respectful of that. Also fallon Butter on the Bridge (warning) do not look at Jimin.

johnreaveslive
>>93909348

I love their chemistry on the jimmy Fallon show, your right you can really see how much he loves and respects them

johnreaveslive
>>93900086

lol right?! I absolutely love the fact that I could talk to them about BTS without them talking down about it, very fun conversation!

johnreaveslive
>>93886384

going to be watching that all on night 4 OR our self made Night 5 (butter on the bridge) but I for sure want to see it! lol

LINDSEY WARD

I love how much you love BTS, I can really tell you're sincere about it 💜

Black capped chickadee

Yes dude! This Idol performance is by far my favorite. So iconic 👌 Thank you for your reaction. I also really appreciate you sharing your experience as an ARMY in the irl world. I feel scared to share that part of myself with others, because people can be very narrow minded sadly. I loved to hear about your positive experience with it 💜

Adama

You should watch BTS' Tiny Desk concert! You'll love it! They perform three songs with a live band.

April

That’s our boy Jimin with that harmonizing note change. Butter on the bridge like what was said is unbelievable and OMG JIMIN is something. I also love Jimin voice in Mikrokosmos breathtaking as stated. Im enjoying this week. Thanks again John.

mahjacat

Ahhh, The BTS Evangelism, easy as breathing 🫰🏾💜

>>93883112

Yes! They have the most insane energy. And thinking about them keeping that up for multible hours is crazy. That Mic Drop + Idol performance is definitely a must watch. And I'd love to see John's reaction to it. It'll blow his mind like it did ours. Just watching Jimin alone makes me exhausted. Running round with his jacket half off + a kick higher than the moon + Idols iconic live Remix = absolute insanity 🔥

Katie

This has got to be my favourite performance of Idol ever. The venue makes it so epic, their outfits before you even get to the song and the dance! Also can we just talk about Jimin's voice in this please, he sounds like an angel when he hits those high notes but OMG is it just me or when he sings 'you can't stop me loving myself' it just hits different and I LOVE it (can you tell I'm Jimin bias haha)

johnreaveslive
>>95940927

For real Katie!!!! I love the way he sings that part! has such grit to it and I love it! Jimin is 100% a bias wrecker for me lol hes so talented and I relate to how hard he is on himself, he's a gem of a person!
