Audrey

Audra McDonald on the left has won six Tony awards (which is a record) and Jane Krakowski has done both theatre and TV. The song they all awwed for was Seasons of Love from RENT. Can't Take My Eyes Off You was Frankie Valli but the story of Frankie/The Four Seasons is in the show Jersey Boys which is amazing.

Sarah Allen

I tell you, there is NOTHING like singing along to showtunes! It is so much fun to re-enact, and feel all the emotions! There is no other genre where you can get so much feeling from any one song!

Scribbles

That first song you didn't know is "Seasons of Love" from the amazing musical, RENT. As for the people, from left to right, it's Audra McDonald who you might know if you ever watched the show The Good Wife, Jesse Tyler Ferguson is definitely in Modern Family, and Jane Krakowski was in Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, but was also a guest star in a bit of Modern Family, too. And that last big song that they did is "One Day More" from my first true love of Broadway, that made me get into musicals, Les Miserables.

Aninha Silva

That last song was One day more from Les Miserable, a Broadway classic!!

Elizabeth Williams

The first song you didn't recognize was Seasons Of Love, from the musical Rent (one of my all time faves) Last song was One Day More, from Les Miserables

Emma

Les Mis is such a classic, and the music is incredible. Highly recommend making that one of your next musicals! The last song in this video is the finale for the first act.

mahjacat

Quite a few actors on The Good Wife and The Good Fight (As seen here, Audra McDonald -gorgeous belter at the end of One Day More & brilliant also as Grace in one of the recent Annie broadcasts) are Broadway Actors (including Hamilton's Original Angelica, Renee Elise Goldsberry) 💙

mahjacat

Oh! The Facetime Hamilton from Some Good News!!!

mahjacat

You Are allowed to Google or look at the YouTube Description of these new genres. I'd personally rather you (and others new to the works) have an extra piece of knowledge right then than wait days for a schmoe like me to come along and fill in the blank 💙

mahjacat

RENT is very, very dear to my heart, as it was the third Actual Broadway Show Tour (after CATS and Dreamgirls, respectively) that I ever saw. The man who originated Roger for Broadway almost lost the part because He Was So Used To Belting The Passionate Parts With His Eyes Closed!

Chriss The FloorStuffie

Omg I was legit gonna send u the link for when the original cast of Hamilton surprised a young fan on SGN during the pandemic. I loved SGN.

Liam Mcfarlane

The song Can’t Take My Eyes Off You is from Jersey Boys, a musical about The Four Seasons. There is a movie version of it directed by Clint Eastwood but I’ve never seen it so can’t speak to whether it’s good or not, the musical is great though!

Gina

You may have to go to IMDB to figure out what you know Audra McDonald from (the woman on the left with the big voice!). Jane Krakowski (the woman on the right) was in 30 Rock and, as someone else mentioned, Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt. Jesse Tyler Ferguson and Lin have done the fewest number of musicals. Audra and Jane have done far more. Additionally, Audra’s seen as a more modern “legend,” arguably. I haven’t followed Broadway for a good 6 years now, but as far as I’m aware, Audra has been focused on tv/screen acting lately.

Shannon Harden

Loved this episode. Huge Broadway fan so when this aired I lost my mind.

MJ

The last song is One Day More from Les Miserables - one of my all time favourite musicals! I think you would appreciate it too! Maybe the next musical reaction?

Teresa Nike

When I saw the poll on which musical to watch next I completely forgot about rent. I recommend it highly and to watch with the original cast. Its an amazing show but it also tackles important issues like addictions and aides. Anyway it was one of my favorites for sure.

Joyelizabeth

Last song one of the most iconic numbers in Broadway history!!!! One Day More from Les Miserables!!!! If you like that than you might like the actual musical

Raye

After Hamilton, the songs were Seasons of Love, from Rent, Can't Take My Eyes Off of You, from Jersey Boys, and One Day More, from Les Miserables, pronounced Lay Mis-air-Rob. Theatre fans call it Lay Miz. Of those, you might enjoy Rent, which is set in late 1990s New York. When it opened it was one of the only rock musicals on Broadway. Like Hamilton, it is sung through, with minimal dialogue. Great, great show about artists struggling in NYC. Les Mis is also sung through, but it's set in 17th century France. Jersey Boys is the story of the Four Seasons, and it uses their music to tell the story.

Raye

In the back seat, the artist on the left is Audra McDonald. She is the most award-winning actress of the Broadway stage. Jesse Tyler Ferguson and Jane Krakowski are best-known for their TV work, but have both performed on Broadway.

Becky Howell

I think you might really like The Hamilton Mixtape. It’s essentially Demo’s, remixes, covers & reimagined versions of the songs from Hamilton. It features The Roots, Nas, Busta Rhymes, Ashanti, Ja Rule,Usher and obviously Lin on it and so many more. It’s a great album to check out.

Yo!SamitySam!

You are getting why people love musical theatre. It’s more than singing and acting. It’s the storylines, compositions, set designs and changes, choreography, costumes, lighting, the band (they are usually under the stage), and the engagement with a live audience… the amount of talent involved is insane and there’s no hiding behind multiple takes. Movie versions are okay but they don’t hit the same way as seeing it on stage. One Day More is from Les Miserables. I think you’ll enjoy it.

Olana Owen

Audra McDonald has the absolute voice of an angel.

FaythSky

I listened to Hamilton yesterday with my 6 yr old and he rocked out to the whole thing with me. He loves Hamilton as much as I do, as well as Rent and Into the Woods (which, btw, I loved James' character in it. Such a great voice.)

Ana

Phantom of the opera the royal Albert hall version please. That is the best version. PLEASE DO NOT WATCH THE MOVIE. ITS HORRIBLE 💜💜💜

I just saw a stage show of Les mis last Thursday. It was amazing

Ana

Do you ever think you react to anime??? I would love to see you react to some

Ana

You'll love rent

Eva

The first song was Seasons of Love, an absolute classic. For a treat for your ears search for Seasons of Love by Pentatonix. They performed it only once, for 4th of July celebrations 2021 on PBS and it is mindblowingly beautiful.

sarah

this is my comfort youtube video, i love it so much. rent was the musical that got me into musicals, and one of lin’s inspirations. also, hugh jackman was in les mis AND an original movie musical called the greatest showman, which i also seriously love.

LisaB

Pentatonix does a great Seasons of Love cover & Kirstie is amazing!

Jordan S

The final song one day more is from one of my favourite musicals "les Mis" which Hugh Jackman stars in!

Ashley Saari

You should react to the Hamilton mix tapes. It’s Hamilton songs plus some songs that were cut or reworked, remixed by popular artists. Some of them are amazing.

Letty

I love this video!! I came here for Hamilton, because is my obsesion haha I love Lin-Manuel so much, he´s my new idol haha I wish that all the musical been recorded like Hamilton, I don´t want to watch movie versions, I want to watch the real musical recorded, the people out of Broadway deserves this art too! haha. Please react to In The Heights, and Les Miserables (the last song is from this one), and Rent too. I don´t know so much about musical, because I enter this world late, but I love it! Ohhh I like BTS! I'm in the kpop mood from 2011 haha, my first group that I love was MBLAQ :p

Ashley Saari

“Seasons of Love” is the big emotional climax to the musical “Rent.” “One Day More” is from “Les Miserable”

John Helwig

Ok John, In the back seat from left to right; Audra McDonald best known for Broadway, but has been on the TV shows Private Practice, The Good Wife and The Good Fight. Jesse Tyler Ferguson was in Modern Family and on the right is Jane Krakowski from the TV shows 30 Rock and Ally McBeal.

thebakingfool

If you choose Les Mis as a reaction, please please please try to find an original live production. Please do not watch the movie and use it to judge. It is not a fair representation.

Joyelizabeth

When you do Les Mis,(bc u simply have to) pls do the movie first and get the context of the story, bc the movie has good vocal performances by several Broadway actors. And then if you want to hear more singing do the anniversary bc the anniversary doesn't capture the story or the emotion, two of the most important parts of the musical as well as the movie or a stage performance. Also, in the movie the actors, including Hugh Jackman are singing live

Rebecca Fraser

If you think this is funny, watch the Drunk History episode on Hamilton, there are two, so make sure you get the one with Lin Manuel Miranda!!!

Nova Jane

You should def do Les Mis (the show the last song came from). It's a classic and is the same as Hamilton in the fact it is sung through and is about history. While the anniversary concert has the best vocals you should watch the movie so you can get the acting and the context. Newsies is also amazing and available on Disney+ so it makes it easy to find.

Nova Jane

While vocals are so much better in the concerts you miss out on so much of the story. A live tapping would be best, but movie is better than concert for a first time watcher.

Tracy Proctor

Watching Rent should be on the list, stage production not movie. The stage production in its final performances on Broadway was filmed and has Renee Elise Goldsberry (Angelica in Hamilton) in it as Mimi. And consider Tick, Tick Boom—about Jonathan Larsen (composer of Rent), directed by Lin-Manuel Miranda.

Aubrey Mayes

I highly recommend watching Lin Manuel Miranda's Tony acceptance speech. It is so uplifting and emotional.

Aubrey Mayes

Also, I adore American Idiot the Musical. It isn't recorded, but the soundtrack is killer, and theres a documentary about it on Amazon video. Im a HUGE Green Day fan, so I may be biased. But I love it and recommend it to anyone getting into Broadway.

Ann

Check out les miserables 10th anniversary concert
