Ok... so I know what you're thinking... but I couldn't help myself and I had to watch this!

Also, I made a whole nice and fancy thumbnail for this... but this pretty much captures how I feel about this performance so were going with it!

I am so happy we got Slow Dance with a saxophone version. I like it more than the flute version, but I think the flute fit the music video better.

V showing off his "Is it live or is it Memorex?" vocals. How is it that the more stripped down it is, the better he sounds? He has definitely been putting in the work! Love to see how proud he is of this project. edit: Just received Layover tonight and the liner notes list freekind as doing the vocal sample on "For Us".

Loved seeing you nerd out to this performance. I love tiny desk too so I was super excited when it appeared on my my youtube feed AND my patron feed 🥰 I think this is the most V performance ever it suits him so well it has such a jazz vibe and yes loved seeing him so happy. One thing though: I play the flute and I swear that was not a flute it was a clarinet wasn't it? Flutes don't have Reed and you hold them differently?

YAZZ FLUTE IN DA HOUSE! LOL Or was that clarinet? Here for it regardless, especially with the sax (former ska kid here, love them horns)! His voice feels like melting chocolate or something, incredibly smooth, controlled but still so emotive. Amazing, I have watched it three times now!

Correcting myself ... I think it's actually a tenor sax like Kenny G (but not the same vibe, clearly) and then the actual sax is a baritone sax for the rest of the episode? I could be wrong for sure, since I haven't played a sax in many many years but judging from the size of them, that's my thought 🤔

So, that's not a flute nor a clarinet nor a brass instrument - it's a soprano saxophone. :) He played a tenor sax earlier, and then switched to the soprano. They're both woodwind instruments. Love this performance so much!!
