Let's go!! It's such a great opener for a show, and Joe really nailed it! Like I bet his younger self was and still is screaming knowing he was able to do Marvel, like tick off the bucket list

I think it did help me to watch WandaVision first, if for no other reason than that a couple of things in this series didn’t have to be explained to me. I will say that this is the first time I’ve watched this episode, and a lot of things make a lot more sense to me now having seen the whole series. By the way, the series that this episode is parodying is Mare of Easttown starring Kate Winslet. I’ve never watched that show, but I know enough about it to recognize that it’s taking off from that. And yes, I think you’re supposed to be confused and to have things start to make more sense as this series goes on. Enjoy the ride!

That was so fun to watch with you! You had such a serious look on your face, then the moment Joe came on the screen, you smiled the biggest smile! I am so glad you enjoyed it! The theme of Agnes of Westview was a take on Mere of Easttown (which I didn’t watch, but heard good things) I love Joe’s look in this so much and he does such a good American accent!

I watched this the first time without any knowledge from Wandavision and thoroughly enjoyed it. Cane to it to see Joe but loved all the cast. Haven't seen anyone note that when the "FBI agent" comes to Agatha's door with pizza, she says a sentence similar to the first line of Pride and Prejudice, "it is a truth universally acknowledged...". Probably showing my age spotting that. This is a fabulous fun series.

Spent my younger years waiting to hear about the next Jane Austen adaptation and waiting to see who will play Elizabeth and Mr Darcy. 😂 Persuasion always my fav lead characters though

Joe's American accent is a bit of a moving target here. He sounds Canadian at times and like a valley girl at others, but it doesn't take away from his performance in any way. The first episode is a major head scratcher, but the show gets much cuter and makes much more sense as it plays on.

I did forget to mention, Patti LuPone, has one of the best episodes of this series in episode 1x07. It was the best episode of Agatha (even better than 1x06 with Joe Locke). She may have a good chance of being nominated for "Best Supporting Actress in a Comedy/Musical" for Emmys next year.

Did anyone else notice? In the opening, Det. Agnes is being briefed on the murder by her colleague who says of the victim (who could be the Scarlet Witch): "Oh she's really most sincerely dead." In The Wizard of Oz, the Munchkin coroner reports on the death of the Wicked Witch of the East, singing: "She's not only merely dead / she's really most sincerely dead." No coincidence.
