I originally had the idea of posting multiple polls, but I've decided to consolidate them into one. I'll be posting the same poll as a public post as well, as patron preferences might differ from the general public, feel free to vote on both.

You can select multiple options if you want. Also, as a disclaimer, the contents of the poll are not necessarily indicative of possible future changes in the development process.

Please use the comments section if you miss an option or want to explain your choices a little further. Feedback like this is always valuable!

I'm curious to see what the results will be. Thanks!

I'm conflicted about animations. They're great BUT time comsuming, so less story because of that. And that's not so great.

On development cycle... if things will be more relaxed... in that we won't see a release every month... perhaps switch to charging per release instead of monthly.

With regards to more game elements (free-roaming, statistics, …): these can be great, if the product is not designed as VN but an actual game instead. The problem here is, that this is really hard to pull off, especially if you have regular releases where content expansion is expected. Because IMHO you'd need a couple of releases to develop the actual system and then can fill in the content. There are a few hybrids, which seem to pull the balance between VN and actual game off. One would be "The Coceter Chronicles" (sadly abandoned). Otherwise you need to develop an actual game IMHO and pay special attention to make not grindy. Many of the games/VNs which have lots of actual game elements are extremely grindy. Though some of this might be due to the regular release cycles for many products in this space: if you have an actual game loop per day, then it must be very tempting for the creator to recycle past activities and assets (I know, even big games do this, but that's not really an excuse 😉) to cut down development time. That being said: if you did an actual game, I'd be at least interested. No matter if it is heavy on story or more in the vein of something like the Hunie series of games.

It seems to be an unpopular opinion, but I prefer having the story elements play second to the sexual content. For the most part, when I want to fully enjoy a story, sexual content and the like tends to just distract me from it and vice-versa. And for a game with heavy amounts of sexual content such as this, I don't tend to play it for the story. That does not mean the story does not affect my enjoyment of the other content, as I also like proper context and the like, but a primary focus on the story just feels like there's too much other stuff to get through to get to the parts I go to the game for. As I said, when I'm in the mood to enjoy a story, sexual content tends to just be a distraction and vice versa.

With respect to the Free-Roam question: I feel like a lot of games like this tend to get grind-y: eg do a thing at a place/time a few times before you get to unlock the next scene. That's never much fun but might to add lots of dev time: so I'd encourage you to avoid that.

Those first two questions are tricky. A game with great story and relatively little sexual content can still be a good game (The Last Sovereign comes to mind), whereas games with a terrible story but lots of sex are fun but somewhat pointless (why not just watch actual porn in this case?). That being said, you have to have a really, REALLY amazing game to get by with little sex, because at that point you're competing with Fallout and the like for my time. What I'm saying is that story trumps sex, but it's multiplicative-- if either of them is zero, the final result is zero.

So far as taboo content is concerned, it's not technically critical - a good story is a good story, and quality of writing is the MOST important part - but I'm playing a VN to get my rocks off, so something that's totally vanilla isn't going to hold my attention. It's gotta be at least a LITTLE fucked up!

I don't really care about seeing the MC's face, so long as he doesn't look like a douche, his expressions match my choices in-game(no "smarmy smug assmunch who smirks all the time but REALLY REALLY loves the girl he's with" or "wimpy, cucky little guy who always looks sad and timid even though he's ballsy and takes risks all the time") and the personality I've interpreted for him, his o-face isn't distractingly weird and he doesn't look like he was made in Oblivion's character creator. So...it's a hard sell, and tough to do right, but doable and not necessarily impossible. :p

I'm sure this has been touched upon elsewhere, but I prefer choices that are meaningful and give me appreciable and substantive differences in outcome. I'm playing a game because I want agency and responsibility for the outcome - otherwise, I could just read a book, watch a movie or find some other medium to do the job. I want to feel like I earned the story I got to read, like I had some measure of control over the outcome - and not just which disposable bimbo I ended up with. I like "harem" style endings in VNs in part because they require the most work, and the outcome isn't guaranteed(also I am a man, with a functioning penis) .

Lastly, and sorry these are all split up(patreon didn't like my mega-comment, and kept refreshing the page when I tried to submit), I don't think that romancing the girls is necessarily all that important per se. I know this makes me an outlier, but I think the story should be the story, and all romance/sex should flow organically from it. As per the above I should have agency in whether and how and who with The Sex happens, but ultimately I don't need a ton of girls throwing their drenching wet pussies at me unless there's a really cool/interesting story as to why it's happening. The question was a little odd, so I'm not sure if that was exactly the response you were lookin' for. :p

I'd say storyline and graphic content are equally important. I'm a patron cause I'm in it for both ;)
