Most of it was attributed to the spells being used by the leading Necromancer, which strengthened the Skeleton Knights beyond measure. Valkorion knew that they were far more powerful than an average Skeleton Knight should be.

'If not for these stupid ordinary cannon fodder Undead, then I would have disposed of these long ago. There are already too many of them, which is becoming troublesome, and unfortunately, I don't have any other offensive ability.'

Valkorion thought as he dodged the rusty sword that was coming for his head, as he tried to locate the Sequence 6 Necromancer Alumeth Alard, who was hiding behind the hordes of the Undead.

He had already counted several hundred of them within his sight, which wasn't really a piece of good news for him. Fortunately enough, he had far more stamina and physical strength to fight for several hours straight, but that wouldn't really last him indefinitely.

Valkorion needed to kill the necromancer controlling the Undead because he would be overwhelmed by them and killed in a rather sad fashion. It was dangerous fighting with the Undead in his state without having the powerful ability or access to some powerful Magic.

The numerical disadvantage was shit.

That was indeed the truth.

Valkorion employed one of the more aggressive stances from the Juyo Sword Style as he increased the pace of his attacks and rushed towards one of the Skeleton Knights, which was the one that attacked him previously, as he aimed Excalibur at the weak spot on his back and hacked with his sword.

In a split second, he hacked his sword and stabbed through the Skeleton Knight.

Even though these Skeleton Knights were very powerful for the Sequence 6 Extraordinary Undead, they were still inferior in the aspect of the physical dimensions to Valkorion, who was also Sequence 6 Beyonder.

After he became the Sequence 6 Beast Knight, his physical attributes got rather a significant boost, and he was many times stronger than he was before. So even if these Undeads were strengthened by their necromancer with various Dark Spells, they were not a match for Valkorion, who was a stronger and far more skilled combatant.

The greatest downside of the Undead was their low intellect if they were not Higher Undead, which these ones obviously were not. Valkorion knew very well how to exploit this kind of weakness, and he did so this time, upon the contact between Excalibur and the Undead's body, the Sequence 6 Skeleton Knight started decomposing under his eyes at a visible rate.

With that one gone, Alumeth was left with only one Sequence 6 Undead, but Valkorion was still very cautious.

He was reminded several times by Mellisandre, who was most experienced with Necromancers and Beyondrers of these Pathways, that skilled Beyonders of the Death Pathways always kept some nasty surprises and tricks in their sleeves for situations like these.

Deciding not to waste any more time, he jumped in the air, as he flipped amid the jump, and landed not far from the remaining Sequence 6 Extraordinary Undead, the Sequence 6 Skeleton Knight, and lashed Excalibur towards the head of the Undead.

He was very strong and fast, as he knew that if he wanted to kill the Alumeth as soon as possible, he would need to dispose of the Sequence 6 Skeleton Knights first because they were constantly blocking him when he wanted to attack their master.

The superior reflexes that he possessed allowed him to dodge the strikes from the Skeleton Knight easily, but he was bothered by several tens of the ordinary undead that were constantly attacking him from all sides.

This made it rather troublesome and hard to make one decisive blow to the Skeleton Knight and destroy the last remaining Sequence 6 Undead in this place so he could move on and finish the leading necromancer from the Cult of the Damned.

The only positive thing was the fact that there was no other entrance to this room, so technically speaking, the Cultists from the Cult of the Damned couldn't leave this place that easily.

Still, they could use some tactics like throwing all of their Unead at them and attempting to escape from here rather than on, but Valkorion didn't see that as really plausible. For the first, even though it was slow and didn't appear like it, Valkorion was doing rather a good job by tying down Alumeth, who was the strongest of the Cultists of the Cult of the Damned and appeared to be a leader.

At the same time, the other ones wouldn't dare to escape alone because Alumeth was a direct disciple of High Deathpriest Isodorus. If they dared to escape alone without him, then they would be hunted down by someone who was the most possible Sequence 3 Beyonder and not that far from reaching the Sequence 2 Beyonder and becoming officially High Sequence Beyonder, the Demigod.

On the other hand, even though Valkorion was putting most of his attention into his own fight, it didn't escape his attention that Gotrik and Mellisandre certainly had a bit better results against their opponents.

Mellisandre, who was fighting alone against two Sequence 6 Necromancers of the Death Pathway, was doing a splendid job. Because, neither of the two Beyonders was particularly strong or had mastered more advanced Spells; their Undeads were being burned by the red priestess in doves.

Gotrik was also doing very well, as he was fighting against the two Beyodners while the one who was from the Darkness Pathway of the Sequence 6 Nightmare was forced on the complete defensive because he couldn't influence the mind and rationale of the dwarven Slayer at all.

The dwarven Slayer forced both of them to close-quarter combat, which was probably the most terrible mistake that they could have made. Neither of the ones that were fighting against Gotrik were proficient in the close-quarter combat, and their Beyonder Pathways were certainly not really leaning into that as well.

The dwarven Slayer was pushing them very hard, and only because of their own power and strength, partially also due to their mastery over their Beoynder Sequence, were they able to last so long.

Still, even though the situation may look good from the outsider's perspective, Valkorion knew that it was only a matter of time, until they would be overrun by the Undead because it was he who was in the most troublesome situation as he was dealing with the strongest opponent among the Cultists from the Cult of the Damned.

He had to give it to the hooded apprentice to the High Deathpriest; he was very skilled and knew his Lore of the Dark Arts... perhaps too well for that.

Still, as Valkorion fought with the Skeleton Knight, the Alamuth channeled more and more power into the last remaining Sequence 6 Skeleton Knight because, unbeknownst to Valkorion, it was the last Sequence 6 Extraordinary Undead under his control.

What Valkorion and their company didn't know was that the situation of the Cult of the Damned in the Undead Asylum Catacombs was far worse than it had initially seemed.

Even though they had been in the Undead Asylum Catacombs for several months already, and it appeared like they had obtained a lot from just a superficial expedition, the truth was a bit more complicated than the naked eye could see.
