"Well, that was a show..."

Valkorion muttered as Camille gave him a raised eyebrow but didn't say anything; in fact, in a certain sense, Valkorion found it rather entertaining. But such were the ways of the Valyrian Freehold because occasions like this happened in Valyria more often than one would actually think.

Within the Freehold, human life had such small value as it could get.

The only thing that mattered within the Freehold was Power and Skills. Nothing else was really interesting for the Valyrians because this entire nation really worked like some version of the Law of the Jungle.

Though people were not outright killing themselves on the streets, if a powerful Beyonder, Dragon Rider, or someone of high status randomly killed some commoner for offending them, then nobody would really care about that.

Even more, the commoner's remaining living family would take another few more hits for being related to someone who offended an influential figure. Although this was apparently not limited to the Freehold alone, it was all over the Essos, the entirety of it.

Things in the Golden Empire of Yi Ti and Asshai were even far worse than they were in the Freehold or in the slaver cities. Asshai was generally accepted as the worst place to live without being powerful or at least skilled enough to protect themselves at the dammed place.

"So, why did you come to the Branch aside from obviously seeing me?"

Camille asked as he had a need almost to frown, but Valkorion realized that he could at least make something from this.

"Sell loot, buy slaves, so I need help, and it would be best if I could borrow some room to remain here at the Volantis for a few days before I would return back to the Cartharys."

Valkorion didn't waste time on the pointless explanations to Camille as he stated the things he needed, and she quickly arranged for him luxurious quarters within the Branch of the Ferros Chamber of Commerce at Volanits during the time he would stay here.

They also went to make a price on the things that he had obtained from looting the members of the Cult of the Damned in the Undead Asylum Catacombs in the Orange Shores. There were a lot of gems, jewels, and jewelry in the Bag of Holding together with the Extraordinary Core of Sequence 7 Lich, which was also certainly worth a lot.

And there were also the Books on the Dark Arts and Necroamncy, though he was keeping those for his own use for the future. When they were returning back to the Volantis from the Orange Shores, Valkorion went through the books out of boredom, and as expected, none of them were ordinary pieces.

All of them had enough knowledge to be enough for a Beyonder of certain Pathways to cover everything in Sequence 3. There were even some tips and hints for reaching the High Seqeucne for the Beyonders of the Death Pathway; most probably, this was written by the High Deathpriest Isidorus personally for his apprentice.

He didn't know if he would gain access to Magic in the future Sequences of his Pathway, so he decided to keep the books for his own use. Even though they were mainly related to the Dark Arts and Necromancy, there were also a lot of general-like basics written up there.

It could be used by almost anyone who knew how to use the knowledge within the books.

As he was putting out the things obtained in the Undead Asylum Catacombs, Camille Ferros started automatically cataloging them and writing prices on them one by one as she worked with the speed of lighting.

"Well, for the Extraordinary Ingredients, I could give a maximum 12,000 Gold Dragon Coins. The other items related to the other Pathways are worth something around another 9,000 Gold Dragon Coins, and the gems, jewels, and jewelry would be around 25,000, with the overall number being set to 46,000 Gold Dragon Coins."

This was even more than he had expected, obviously not counting the Beoyonder Potion Recipes that he couldn't really sell that easily because selling those was always such a hassle.

Now, it made him wonder how much the real value of these things on the market would be if he got almost 50,000 Gold Dragon Coins.

"And if you are wondering how much I would sell it for, then it would be something in between 75,000 Gold Dragon Coins to 80,000 Gold Dragon Coins. Maybe a bit higher If I went to sell some of these pieces in Westeros as rare export goods."

Valkorion nodded as he could see that some of these gems would be very rare precious commodities, and they could be sold for astronomically high sums of money.

"Damm, that's a lot, though, as expected from an experienced merchant like yourself."

He complimented her as she nodded her head while they continued their talk as Camille then ordered one of her subordinates to prepare money. As they would be paying him 46,000 Gold Dragon Coins, Camille decided to transfer it to the Iron Bank Account.

Now with that added, with the original 18,000 Gold Dragon Coins he would have account balance of 64,000 Gold Dragon Coins, which was far more than enough to buy a good number of talented and powerful slaves.

He would spend a night at the Volantene Branch of the Ferros Chamber of Commerce and tomorrow he would go to the slave market. Volantis had one of the largest slave markets in the entire Valyrian Freehold, no less magnificent than the ones in the capital or the ones in the slave cities of Astapor, Yukai, Mereen and New Ghis.

And when the slaves were bought, he would return back to the Cartharys. According to him, soon enough, it would be time for the eruption of the goblinoids from the Painted Mountains, which would be a huge opportunity to make a lot of money.

The money that would be done from the goblinoids could be used to expand the mercenary company and buy more resources. In fact, since Mellisandre hinted to him the existence of another continent north of the Essos, he was determined to sail there and see by himself.

He was rather curious about what patch of land it was.

Unfortunately, due to the humongous size of the Essos, reaching the utmost north of the Essos would take them months, even if one was using the best carriage possible and Extraordinary Creatures to pull the said carriage.

The quarters that were assigned to him by Camille Ferros within the Volantene Branch of the Ferros Chamber of Commerce screamed one word... or two...

Luxury and opulence.

Everything was as luxurious as possible, befitting the wealth of the Clan Ferros, the richest Mercantile Clan in the entire Valyrian Freehold. Their wealth was rumored to be only a tad smaller than the Divine Dynasty of the Golden Empire of Yi Ti.

So these guest rooms that they had within their Braches for the important guests of the Clan Ferros and their Chamber of Commerce certainly reflected their wealth and power.
