"But if you decide to stay by my side after the five years of your service, then I will guarantee that you will be part of something greater than just a mere sellsword company. The foundation of something greater than anyone could imagine, and those who leave that day will regret it till the end of their days."

Now, there were signs of hope for everyone who was listening to him, and even the ones like Darius and Rhaenar Aertheos were actually paying some attention to him.

"Many of you ended as slaves either by the will of fate, unfortunate circumstances, or the greed of your fellow men. Many of you don't have any kind of future in front of you anymore, and many of you can only hope. I am giving you hope, hope for a better future. For the future where you can create a long-lasting legacy as warriors and the pioneers known all over the Faerûn."

Valkorion knew that hope was the greatest motivator and weapon in life.

Hope was something that gave the people the will to live and also the determination to do unquestionable things in the name of hope.

Hope and faith.

That was all that Valkorion was offering them.

These were some of the most valuable things in the life.

As he finished his speech, the slaves that he bought looked among themselves, and slowly after, one of them stepped forward. It was Darius who had been chosen as the spokesperson among the slaves, but he was the strongest of the slaves that he bought.

As the Sequence 6 Fighter of the Barbarian Pathway, he had the highest standing among the group of slaves, as he was the only one who was Sequence 6 Beyonder among the slaves that Valkorion had bought.

"We await your commands, My Lord."

Darius, the Sequence 6 Fighter, knelt on his right knee, as his action was mimicked by the rest of the slaves who were all present. Valkorion looked at the sight before him with satisfaction as he achieved something great.

Even though it was shaky, he managed to get the seed of loyalty toward his cause.

He knew that these people were without much prospects for the future unless something heaven-changing happened to them, and they lost their status as slaves and their Slave Crests shattered.

This was the establishment of the Trafiri Mercenary Company, the foundation of his rise to power, and when Camille Ferros delivered the batch of the weapons and armor, he would have a top-notch combat force established.

With this, he could gather resources more effectively because within the vast Valyrian Freehold, there was always a job for the mercenaries, and the good mercenary companies were in very high demand.

"Splendid... organize the men and take them. We will go to the headquarters of the Ferros Chamber of Commerce in the Volantis to pick up your equipment. I admit that I don't have really that high military education. Are there any among you the ones that served in the Legions or anywhere?"

Valkorion knew his strong and weak sides, and he knew that compared to the professional soldiers and commissioned officers, his knowledge of military matters was lacking. While he was educated enough to lead a mercenary company, what Valkorion wanted and needed was an elite fighting force.

Something that would rival the strength, discipline, and morale of the Legions of the Valyrian Freehold. As he asked that, several people raised their hands, including Darius, Rhaenar Aertheos, Benn Farron, Aruk Glinthorn, and most surprisingly, that psychotic-looking Yordle.

"Excellent, then together we will establish the central command of the Trifarian Mercenary Company and decide on the organization and ranks within the mercenary company."

Valkorion could see that his action in this earned the approval of several people, especially Darius and Rhaenar Aertheon, as they were previously commissioned officers, and Rhaenar was even serving as one of the high-ranking officers of the Valyrian Legion.

"As you command."

Darius stated as they then followed Valkorion into the headquarters of the Ferros Chamber of Commerce within the Volantis.

***

Valkorion already discussed everything with Camille Ferros, and for the Heiress Apparent of the Clan Ferros, it was easy to arrange something around one hundred plated armors and steel weapons.

In the great scheme of things, this was rather a small number of the armaments for the Ferros Chamber of Commerce. When he arrived at the Ferros Chamber of Commerce, Camille was already waiting there for him and led Valkorion and his newly christened mercenaries into the warehouses where the weapons and armors were awaiting them.

Upon his command, everyone started changing their gear, or rather, getting rid of the rags they were wearing and replacing them with the top-notch sets of plated armor made by the Dwarves, and selecting weapons.

Every single one of the mercenaries was given one full planted set of thick armor, which made them look rather menacing, especially when their helmets were on. They covered the entire body of the soldiers, signifying that Camille wasn't saving money for this because every single one of these sets was worth around two or three hundred Gold Dragon Coins.

On the back of the armors, everyone had a short red cape with the engraved symbol that Valkorion chose to represent the Trifarian Mercenary Company. Also, every member got a full-body shield that would allow them to use defense formation, with the shields being of the same design as the ones used by the Valyrian Legions.

Aside from the armors, each one was given one longsword of a rather peculiar design because the blade was long with a sharp end, and it wasn't in the typical design of the swords in Westeros. These ones were specifically designed for fast strikes and killings, and they looked very similar to the Japanese katanas, but they were bigger and bulkier.

Aside from their primary weapons, each soldier was given several daggers, one secondary and three throwing daggers, several tens of longbows and crossbows, and each one was also armed with the halberd for the more distanced means of combat.

Just the weapons alone that Camille was investing in them were worth around 40,000 Gold Dragon Coins due to their superior quality. Not to mention, every one of the commissioned officers was allowed to choose and customize their gear, which even further increased the price.

The overall investment of the Clan Ferros into the Trifarian Mercenary Company exceeded the number of 100,000 Gold Dragon Coins, which was a staggering number.

But for the Clan Ferros, this was just a drop in the ocean of their wealth, which was apparently in the millions of Gold Dragon Coins.

Seeing this, Valkorion knew that Camille wasn't playing around and she was going all out with him. Then, the realization hit him that this was just an initial investment from the Clan Ferros.

The former ragtag bunch of slaves now looked like an elite force, an elite soldiery belonging to the Valyrian Legion. This was rather ironic because many of the men and women in the Trifarian Mercenary Company were former members of the Valyrian Freehold Legions or the private soldiery of the Dragonlord Families who had ended up in slavery.

"It's a rather intimidating sight, don't you think?"
