Chapter 111 - The First Meeting's End (Patreon)

"Well, the Doom of the Valyrian Freehold would happen sometime between 12 to 14 Years, and it would have something to do with the Apotheosis Ritual of a future True God. One thing is sure: the Doom is inevitable, and I have noticed that many True Dragons have even started migrating out of the Valyrian Peninsula and taking out their Nests together with all of their subjects to different places."
This was something that I had learned through Camille Ferros, but it only affirmed that something was coming. The fact that the True Dragons were migrating wasn't anything new, as the wild True Dragons migrated all the time, all around Essos, Sothoryos, and Ulthos, or sometimes even to the Valoran.
But this time, it was different.
Valkorion noticed that pattern in the migrations of the True Dragons, not to mention they were taking with them their entire colonies with many other True Dragons, Lesser Dragons, and Draconis species.
This was an enormous migration that had been happening for the past many decades, and the number of the wild True Dragons, Lesser Dragons, and so on was the lowest since the creation of the Valyrian Freehold.
"Whatever is happening would claim the entire Valyrian peninsula, and the prophetic dreams of the Daenys Targaryen affirmed that, yet the Dragonlords and the Triarchs are closing eyes before it and deciding nothing is threatening the Freehold."
Valkorion told what he knew, though he decided to withhold some information for himself only because of the identity of the perpetrator behind the scenes. That was probably the most valuable information that he had ever, though it wasn't 100% in this case.
Yet he wouldn't sell it that cheaply.
Not to mention, he was rather sure that both people who were here were old monsters and that it wouldn't take them long to figure it out. He was almost absolutely sure that Adam already knew the identity of the mastermind.
In the end, there were only two possible candidates, and when one looked closely, only one person was suitable for the position of the perpetrator.

Soon enough, everything returned to the previous state as the personal transaction between Valkorion and Mephistopheles had ended. When they returned to normal, Adam noticed that Mephistopheles looked far more pleased than previously, as if he had learned something very good.
Just by observation, Adam could see that his compatriot was very satisfied with the result of the exchange, which meant that this was someone who couldn't return back to the Faerûn due to the existence of the Valyrian Freehold.
Or...
Perhaps, was it due to the Dragon God?
That would certainly explain a lot.
"Well, if there is not anything else, I will proclaim this meeting as the end. The next one would take place exactly one month later, as would every single meeting of the Congregation that would be taking place on a monthly basis."
Valkorion ended the meeting of the Congregation for the time being, because it was clear that neither of the two had anything to say.
He knew that Adam was far more cautious to do this without properly observing the situation in the first place, and the second man who was present at the meeting had already obtained what he wanted.

The Fargrave
When Layton Soremburg woke once again from the meeting for the first time in the past centuries, he felt satisfied. The situation in the Faerûn was soon enough evolving exactly like he wanted.
If the Valyrian Freehold indeed fell, then even in the worst scenario, the Five-Headed Dragon God would be left crippled. In the best-case scenario, he would fall together with the Valyrian Freehold and become part of the history.
Either way...
Either way, he would be able to return to the Faerûn from the Fargrave. With the fall of the Freehold, various Valyrian holdings in the Realms of Oblivion would be captured by their rivals as the Valyrians made more than enough enemies, especially the Deadric Prince of Change, who was eager to see the Dragonlords destroyed.
"Now I need to obtain the Heart of the Dremora Valkynaz... but with the state of the Valkynaz of the Bloodwraith Clan, it should be an easy matter."
Normally speaking, the Valkynazez were High Sequence beings, but they were not born in that power. On average, every Dremora Valkynaz was either Sequence 2 Saint or Sequence 1 Angel, while some who were the Clan Leaders of the biggest Dremora Clans were even King of Angels.
Yet, he saw something more particular.
Dremora Valkynaz was so severely injured that his Sequence fell to the Mid Sequences, and his combat prowess wouldn't be much higher due to the injuries that he had suffered. And for whatever reason, he was in the Fargrave.
Member of the Bloodwraith Clan.
"They have a long-lasting grudge against the Deathbringer Clan... it seemed that this one crippled little mouse is the result of the ongoing conflict."
He already schemed how he would take advantage of the situation because killing the Dremora Valkynaz would mean that they would obtain all of their riches. Well, that was certainly welcomed, as that would speed up his recovery by a considerable degree.
It was somewhat utterly disgraceful that the former King of Angels ended like this.

Corpse Cathedral
"What an interesting change in the trajectory of the world."
In the grand empty cathedral of the corpses, Adam opened his eyes as he awoke from the dream.
"And he even has Sefirot under his control... fortunately, it is one that is not my concern, or else this would be a more problematic situation. Clash with someone who is unknown yet controlling Sefirot would be detrimental to everything that is happening."
He then adjusted his priest robe as he began praying once more.
"Maybe this could be used to push the pawns on the board even more advantageously... the situation in the Southern Westeros could be better."
The Southern Westeros was the domain of the Church of the Seven, and it was the area where Adam was pulling the strings toward his own goals. The North of the Westeros was the domain of the Parthenon, which worshipped the Old Gods.
Collective name for the God of Nature and God of Sky, Wisdom, War, Magic and few other things. Both of them were powerful Gods, of the Primal Wild Pathway and Skyfather Pathway as their Sequence 0.

Volantis
Valkorion was very satisfied with the establishment of the Kadath.
The Congregation.
The gains that he obtained from just the first meeting were something considerable.
He knew that it would take some time for the Congregation to work as a proper organization because the personalities that he had dragged into the meeting were very problematic and cautious.
These were not some new players in the game, but rater experienced chess masters that calculated every single moment that they made. For such an organization to properly work, it would require a lot of time and effort, but he knew that it would be worth it.
Just from a single meeting, he obtained the Compendium for the Warrior Pathway, which was rather a rare thing. And most importantly, it was his ticket strength to the peak of the Mid Sequence...
