Chapter 18 - Treasure Trove of the Old Satan Faction (Patreon)

Research Area of the 2nd Layer of the Lucifaad Research Facility

Valiana strolled through the Research Area where all laboratories of the Lucifad Research Facility were located as she went to one of the core research laboratories where Zaran Naberius was experimenting on something that caught Valiana's attention.

The Super Devil Project.

She knew that for the Devils, the maximum that their natural growth allowed them was capped at the Level 6 Satan-Class.

That was the maximum that their species could achieve through training or any other natural method. The Devils couldn't advance to Level 7 on their own, as they were their very own species, and the restriction of the Devil race was holding them back.

She knew that breaking those restrictions was almost impossible, and the number of people who managed to do so could be counted on one hand. 

Valiana didn't like anyone from the House Nebiros and House Naberius. 

Mostly because the experiments that they were conducting on the people, and when he was at the Old Satan Faction, even though she managed to escape some of the worst experiments, it wasn't like she wasn't the experimental subject for Zaorama Nebiros, because she was born with the Longinus-Tier Sacred Gear Divine Dividing.

She looked through the corridors until she finally found the right one and found the path that was leading to the laboratory, which was holding Zaran Naberius, as she kicked out the door to the laboratory and saw the middle-aged devil in luxurious garbs, that was panicked as hell, and was thinking how he could save his hide.

Not even bothering to talk with the devil, she delivered a powerful swift kick into his head, essentially knocking him unconscious in one move. She did it mainly because so she didn't have the ticking to kill him where he stood as she was rather tempted to do so.

She knew that devils like him were beyond annoying.

If it were up to her, she would let the man die and not bother with him anymore, but alas, Yhwach had more plans for the member of the House Naberius. Zaran Naberius would play a very important role in the schemes.

Tholugh Valiana was surprised that the Devils off the Old Satan Faction were conducting something like the Super Devil Project, and the most shocking part of it all, was the fact that they were using the members of the other races to advance their own race.

Valian found it rather hilarious that the devil supremacists who believed in the supremacy of the Devil Race over all other races, were actually using the other species to break the limitation on their very own genome.

It was very ironic from this point of view. And on the other hand, Valina herself was rather intrigued by the results of the Super Devil Project, as she went to the terminal that Zaran Naberius was using before she knocked him out and started searching for the information on the Super Devil Project.

After several minutes, she found some pieces of information that proved to be very valuable even for her, in fact, as she was still part devil, even though she had evolved to the Devil Dragon, but in essence, the Devil Part of her didn't go anywhere. 

It still remained in her, so the information that she obtained from the Super Devil Project still held a certain value even for her. The Super Devil Project, under the umbrella of the Old Satan Faction, has reached a relatively high degree, though it is still far from being completed.

Still, what was interesting about a method of breaking through the Genetic Restriction in the Devil Genome and the Old Satan Faction, also managed to find out several interesting information about the Genetic Restrictions.

Like for example, the Hybrids and Reincarnated Devils had weakened Genetic Restrictions, meaning it was easier for the Reincarnated Devils and Hybrids to become the Super Devils, though at the same time, it was incomparably harder for the Reincarnated Devils and Hybrids to reach the Level 6.

The Old Satan Faction was experimenting with various Hybrids and Reincarnated Devils from various races, to try to break through the Genetic Restrictions.

Apparently Zaorama Nebirious hoped that one of them would be able to break through the Genetic Restrictions and they would be then able to replicate the process on the Pure-Blooded Devils.

It was a good and solid plan, though one clad in the uncertainty that heavily depended on luck and quality of the experimental subjects. If they hadn't had any luck in this, they could have spent entire centuries without any value, but there was nothing much they could do.

Unfortunately for them, the one crucial item in all of this, was lost.

The Book of Lucifer, which was used to create the Devil Race after his own fall from the race, got lost after the death of Lucifer and the end of the Great War of the Supernatural, and nobody knew its precise location.

Though it was generally accepted, that if they wanted to resolve the matters with the Genetic Constraints of the Devil Species, then one would need to find the Book of Lucifer, and surprisingly, not even Rizevim Livann Lucifer was aware of the location of the Book of Lucifer.

It seemed that not even Lucifer himself wanted for his descendants to find the Book of Lucifer for whatever reason, and the book was lost. However, according to the information on the terminal, the Old Satan Faction invested a lot in the search for the Book of Lucifer, and they managed to find scans and copies of some pages.

Unfortunately, only one of them was useful to the Super Devil Project while the rest of them were essentially useless. Valiana then made a mental note to call Yhwach here because he would be for sure interested in the Super Devil Project research data and most importantly...

It was the huge stasis chamber that was in the middle of the room.

Valiana looked at the stasis chamber in which the experimental subject for the Super Devil Project on which Zaran Naberius was working on.

From the description on the Subject Zero-X, it was Nekoshou, a rare variant of the Nekomata Yokai and member of the Zaran Naberius's peerage as the devil was attempting to use the Life Force or Chi to break through the Genetic Restrictions and he was getting some really good results from the experiment.

Unfortunately for the Zaran Naberius, it seemed that due to the high stress and decay of the DNA.

Apparently, the more of the Devilish Genetic Constraints they broke apart with the Chi, the more unstable her DNA became, due to the fact that the Devil-side of her was severely overpowering the rest of the DNA of the Nekoshou origin. 

In the end, due to this instability, the entire Genetic Chain was collapsing and she was alive mainly because they were holding her in the suspended stasis with Time Magic and Space Magic, if not for else, it was clear that the Subject Zero-X would have already died long ago.

Right now, before their raid on the entire facility, Zaran Naberius was preparing to inject her with the purified Blood Essence obtained from the Pure-Blooded Devils of the Noble origin in hopes of saturating the expending Devil-part of the Subject Zero-X which should be able to stop the DNA decomposition right away.

Valiana looked at the stasis chamber in the middle of the room, which was being protected by several powerful Wards and Runes, all around the stasis chamber capsule and saw there a beautiful young woman with a voluptuous figure, long black hair with split bangs, and hazel-gold eyes with cat-like pupils.

Her most notable features were the pair of cat ears on her head and two cat tails. When Valiana looked at the girl, she knew that she was most probably even a bit younger than she was, and felt a mixture of rage on the Old Satan Faction and pity on the poor Nekoshou. 

She herself was a subject of the cruelty of the Old Satan Faction and she could sympathize with her to some degree.

"I would need to call Yhwach here... he should be able to patch her up."

She knew that her boyfriend?, or their current relationship was right now, was the most well-versed person in the Genetics and Genetic Engineering that she knew and she knew that he would be able to patch up the poor Nekoshou up in an instant.

Indeed, for Yhwach patching up the Nekoshou wouldn't be much of a problem, because he possessed wide knowledge about the Devil Genetics that he obtained from his own study for Valiana's Devil Draconification Process, and at the same time, he was in contact with Ajuka Beelzebub often exchanging research notes.

Meanwhile, Valiana was securing the Zaran Naberius, Yhwach has departed to another part of the Lucifaad's Research Facility of the Old Satan Faction and that was the containment area for the Chimeras and other experimental subjects.

It was really intriguing, but the Old Satan Faction was experimenting a lot with the concept of the Chimeras, DNA recombination, and Genetic Engineering with the usage of the Genome from the other species.

For a faction that spouted a lot of non-sense about the Pure-Blooded Devil Supremacy, they were doing a lot of rather contradictory things that not many would really understand...

He wondered if this was the approach of the entire Old Satan Faction or just the Zaorama Naberius who was leader of the Lucifaad's Research Facility. It was not like he really cared; his only job right now was to ensure that this place was secure.

According to the Zaorama's memories, the entire containment area was holding and imprisoning some of the Level 6 Chimeras. One such being would be able to reshape entire continents if they had powerful AOE abilities, or they would be able to withstand the attacks and destroy entire continents on the Earth.

It was the rather frightening level of power when one thought over it, but he didn't really think that these Chimeras possessed such a high degree of destructive prowess, because the Old Satan Faction wouldn't be really creating and holding here something that could potentially destroy them if they broke free.

If he were to bet, then these Chimeras would most probably be the second case as they had the durability and vitality to withstand the continental level attacks. Still, it wasn't like these Chikemras were not destructive, but not everyone who was at the Level 6 had the corresponding destructive capabilities.

Yhwach knew that when it came to the Level Classifications, most of them were really vague and there were not any absolutes. The basic division was into the: Lower Dimensional Lifeforms, Cosmic Lifeforms and Higher Dimensional Lifeforms. 

Lower Dimensional Lifeforms consisted of the Level 1 to Level 7 beings.

The Level 1 being Superhuman Level, entities on this Level could bend iron, run faster, and were essentially like supersoldiers and above the human limit. The name was also derived from it, because this was just an introductory degree for the Supernatural Races, but for the humans it was already considrfee asd very high realm of power.

Meanwhile, the Level 7 was the peak of the Lower Dimensional Lifeforms, and beings in this Level could, on average, destroy smaller celestial bodies in the space or crack some moon if they had high enough destructive prowess, or at least withstand such attacks with their bodies and physical strength.

Cosmic Lifeforms ranged from Level 8 to Level 10 and at this Level one could most commonly destroy entire Planets while at the peak of the Cosmic Lifeform Realm one could destroy entire Stars and even Star Systems.

Most obviously, Yhwach didn't know anything about the Higher Dimensional Lifeform, because the Draconic Deus never gave birth to the Higher Dimensional Lifeform in their entire existence. 

The most powerful beings in the Draconic Deus were the Great Red, Origin Gods, and some other Primordials who were credited with the "Creation of the Universe". These ones were at Level 10 and were the most powerful beings in the Draconic Deus, even though many of them had already fallen to the Endless Slumber, had died, or disappeared.

Right now, the strongest beings in the Draconic Deus were the 1st-Generation Primordial Gods at the Level 9 like Nyx, Erebus, Tartarus, Izanagi, Izanami, Ra, Apep and a bunch of Gods that were born at the earliest age of the Draconic Deus.

Yhwach arrived at the containment area, which looked like a huge prison from his past life, albeit everything was much better secure and all of the Chimeras were in the stasis chambers that were mixture of the Stasis Capsule made from some of the hardest alloy that the modern methods in the Supernatural World could made and suspsed in the mixture of the Time Magic, Space Magic and Ice Magic.

At the same time, Yhwach noticed countless runes around the entire place and many Wards that were protecting this place. He really wondered what he should do with the Lucifaad Research Facility, because there was no self-destruction button aside from the traps that he disabled.

Not to mention, if he destroyed the facility, it wouldn't have been really that fun anymore.

While it would cause some damages to the Old Satan Faction, it wouldn't be enough, far from what he wanted.

"Dun... dun... dun... Idea..."

Yhwach was seriously thinking about what to do... until he came to the solution as he was looking through the defensive network of the Lucifaad's Research Facility. Yhwach decided to strip the facility clean and take everything that was of any value with him back home, while leaving here only scraps, traps, and death.

He would delete all of the research data and destroy the servers or take them with him, while disposing of all experimental subjects that were of no value to him and doing the very same thing with the equipment that was within the facility.

At the same time, as he would leave, he would wake all of the Chimera from the stasis and set the timer on their release at the moment when the first groups of the Old Satan Faction would arrive at the Lucifaad Research Facility, as they would get the emergency signal and call for help.

And as the nice bonus, he would also inject the Chimeras with some drugs to make them extra aggressive and bloodthirsty to be sure that they would kill as much of the Old Satan Faction as possible.

To make sure that they won't be able to access the system, Yhwacch planned to lock it down entirely, so the Old Satan Factiion won't know anything about the current state of the facility and the research and their only options would be either to take the risk that everything was gone or send in their soldiery to occupy it.

The Old Satan Faction was literal thron in his ass and everything that would slow down or thwart Rizevim's plans was greatly welcomed and appreciated at the same time.

He started by checking on the Chimeras and their types, though he was rather intrigued by the research data, because some of the things that the Old Satan Faction was doing were interesting even for him, and some of their findings on the topic of the Genetic Engineering were niche.

Yhwach then started downloading the research data and other data from the terminals on the Chimera as he was interested in some of their research.

Even though, on the general principle, he disdained the things like that, but in some of the research results, he saw potential for mass-produced genetically engineered beast soldiers or something like that.

In the future, Yhwach could create his very own army like his personal Zergs or something like that. In some regard, according to the research of the Old Satan Faction into the art of the Chimera creation, it was heading towards this direction, which was the most interesting thing.

He was a bit intrigued by this development, so he decided to take the research data on the Chimeras and their creation. After he took every single thing from the terminals of the Lucifaad Research Facility, he ordered the program to start deleting everything in the databases.

After the deletion of the databases was finished, he started checking on the defenses of the Chimera containment units. Once that was done, Yhwach went to check on the common laboratories, and Valiana sent him a message saying that she found something interesting when she was apprehending Zaran Naberius.

He also needed to download the rest of the research data from the laboratories that were in the middle of the 2nd Layer of the Lucifaad's Research Facility. Using Zaran Naberius to weaken the New Satan Faction was one of his schemes to squeeze some resources out of them at a later date.

Especially the Agreas Crystals.

That was something about which he had been literally salivating for some time already.

The Agreas Crystals were the materials from which the Evil Pieces were made of and they were one of the reasons why such a thing, like Racial Devil Reincarnation was possible in the first place.

They were found only in the one place in the entire Draconic Deus and that was the Agreas, a floating island in the Underworld, located in Agares Territory which is being maintained by the servants of the current Satan Beelzebub.

Agreas was one of the strategic location for the New Satan Faction due to the presence of the Agreas Crystals, because in fact, their usage in the creation of the Evil Pieces was just the tip of the iceberg.

The Devils of the New Satan Faction were using the Agreas Crystals in almost all of their cutting edge Magical Technologies, as the Agreas Crystals were probably one of the best possible conductors for the Magicules to flow.

Not only because their materials were best suited for it and there was zero reputation during the process of Absorption and the process of Release, but at the same time, once the Magicules were passing through the Agreas Crystals, they were instantly amplified by some degree.

This technique, of the Magicule Amplification, was used in the Evil Pieces, in the so-called promotions.

Based on the game of chess, there are a total of 15 pieces (1 Queen ♛, 2 Rooks ♜, 2 Bishops ♝, 2 Knights ♞, and 8 Pawns ♟) that are given to Noble Devils Devils (King ♚) with a Peerage. These pieces are used to reincarnate other beings into Devils and become servants of the Devil Aristoctracts and especially those of the 72 Devil Pillars or the Extra Devil Clans. 

The Evil Pieces cannot reincarnate Gods or Buddhas into Devils even with a Mutation Piece, and they also had problems reincarnating those who were significantly stronger than the Devil who was holding the King Piece of the Peerage.

Each Piece was giving the bearer of the Piece some peculiar abilities, though mainly limited to the permanent increasement in some of the Dimensions like Agility, Strength, Vitality and so on. 

Aside from that, the Pawns had the Promotion Ability, which allowed the Pawn to utilize the mobilization capabilities of the Agreas Crystals and boost the power of the Pawn to a much higher degree.

These were just a few reasons why Yhwach wanted to get his hands on the Evil Pieces, but even though he was exchanging the research notes with Ajuka, it wasn't like he could just trade with him large amount of the Agreas Crystals.

While he got some samples, which allowed him to do some study on the Agreas Crystals, that was far from enough. At the sam time, cultivating his own Agreas Crystals wasn't really possible for the time being, because it required a specific condicition.

Agreas Crystals could replicate under the right conditions and turn other materials and ambient Mana into more Agreas Crystals.

Karna, Arjuna and Bikou were hunting for the remaining Level 4 Ultimate-Class Devils that were in the research complex, though all of them were severely weakened and their power has already dropped down considerably, so in the greater scheme of all things...

It could be safely concluded that they were not really a threat of any kind.

Right now, they were imprisoned in the complex and they couldn't leave under any circumstances as the security was tight and Yhwach was controlling the defensive ward netrowk in the Lucifaad's Research Facility that he took from the Zaorama Nebiros.

What was ironic, Zaorama personally went to the extremes when it came to the upgrades of the wards and Magic Arrays, becue the old devil was fearing betrayal and rebellion from his own subordaints.

Though, such behavior wasn't anything even remotely surprising within the boundaries of the Old Satan Faction, as the it was already common place. Cutthroating politics was one if not the fastest way of rank climbing in the Old Satan Faction.

Zaorama as paranoid he was, was already preparing for the eventuality if Euclid or Rizevem or perhaps one of his other rivals would have wanted to get rid of him. So, he turned the entire Research Faciltiy into one huge deathtrap.

And this was secret that was known only to him and nobody else. Not even the leadership of the Old Satan Faction was aware of the true defensive capabilities of this place which was in the end, right now just playing into their cards.

Everoyne was on board with Yhwach's plan of causing high looses to the Old Satan Faction, especially Valiana due to her personal feelings.

But even Karna and Arjuna supported this plan, because the Old Satan Faction was now an enemy of the Hindu Pantheon and the wider alliance between the Hindus, the Nordic Pantheon, and the Celestial Court.

The very moment when the Hindu Pantheon took Valiana as their member, it became clear to everyone that the Old Satan Faction would become the enemy of the Hindu Pantheon due to Valiana's presence within the faction.

At the same time, it wasn't like the Asuras and Devas feared the conflict, or their Gods feared the conflict with the Old Satan Faction. Before the might of the Hindu Pantheon the Old Satan Faction wasn't really much worth of mentioning, the only one who was a real threat was Rizevim Livan Luucifer.

But according to all of the knowledge that they had on the man, he didn't have anything to do with the management of the Old Satan Faction for many, many decades and he was doing what he wanted. 

Not really bothering with anything as the Old Satan Faction was in the hands of Kaera Leviatha, Creuserey Asmodeus and Shalba Beelzebub...

They were all rather disappointments because even though they were the descendants of the Original Satans, they were barely reaching the Level 5 High Ultimate-Class in terms of power.

Unfortunately for the Old Satan Faction, neither of the three was of any use, because they were not particularly strong, nor were they particularly smart. 

There were several of the Ultimate-Class Devils of the Old Satan Faction that were stationed in the Lucifaad's Research Facility, but most of them were finished by one or two hits from one of them.

Due to their injuries and suppression that they were facing from the Magical Defenses around the entire facility, their combat prowess was reduced to pitiful degrees and thus, the trio of Arjuna, Karna and Bikou were able to effortlessly disposed off.

When they finished off the disposal of the Ultimate-Class devils of the Old Satan Faction, they went after the remaining forces of the Old Satan Faction that were still within the Lucifaad's Research Facility.

"So what did you find?"

Yhwach asked as he arrived at the laboratory of the Zaran Naberius, where Valiana was already waiting for him, and she wanted to show him something. He himself was rather curious, because through their mental connection when they spoke, he could feel that she was still pretty distressed and angry.

Something must have happened.

It wasn't everyone when Valian was feeling angry... during the past years living in the Hindu Pantheon, even though she was hot-headed and still the same battle maniac, it was rather hard to make her genuinely angry.

"Come here..."

She led him to the middle of the laboratory, where there was a huge stasis pod in which he could see rather familiar visage of Nekoshou. 

Kuroka, a Nekoshou and member of the Peerage of Zaran Naberius. She was an older sister of Koneko Toujou, making her the firstborn daughter of Fujimai and her human lover. Her father was actually one of the Magicians that was working with the Naberius House and it was him who proposed reincarnating his daughters and using them as research experiments for the Super Devil Project.

After the death of their parents, she and her sister were turned by the Naberius House into Reincarnated Devils. However, after killing her previous master to protect her sister, Kuroka became an SS-Class Stray Devil, one of the most wanted criminals.

This was rather a peculiar situation, because it seemed that they managed to intercept them far before something of this happened. When Yhwach looked at the stasis pod, he checked the terminal about the research subject that was aptly named as Zero-X.

"So this is why you have called me..."

It wasn't hard for Yhwach to figure out why she had called him. It seemed that the DNA of the Subject Zero-X was decaying and falling apart. At the same time, she was getting the transfusion with the Purified Devil Essence that was refined from the Pure-Blooded Devils.

That was probably the only reason why she wasn't dead yet.

"Can you do something about her state?"

Valiana asked with something that one would think was concern... and one would be right in that.

"Well... technically yes. But not here... we need to take the pod with us to home. The idea of using the Purified Devil Essence is a good one, but at the same time, it will only slow down the symptoms but not cure the disease."

Yhwach looked at the data in the terminal and even though he wasn't most optimistic about that, he could see several possible solutions when her DNA decay but he couldn't do it here. 

Mostly, because the entire process would take a few hours at best, several weeks at worst and most realistically speaking, it would be around three days. The most straightforward solution would be to patch up the DNA with the usage of the overwhelming amount of Life Force and Demonic Energy together with the Blood of a very powerful Pure-Blood Devil.

As he thought over it, his mind went to Zaorama Nebiros, who was lying unconscious and bound in his office, as he found a new usage for the Patriarch of the House Nebiros aside from just killing him after extracting all of his memories from his head.

"We will take her back to Mount Kailash and use Zoarama to heal her. If my predictions are right, then not only we would be able to heal her completely, but at the same time, she would immensely profit from the entire ordeal."

Yhwach knew that taking her out of the stasis pod was basically impossible, because the stasis pod with the few things that were in it, was keeping the poor Nekoshou alive. Without the stasis pod, she would have perished so they cannot take her out unless they have prepared a suitable alternative for it.

So they would need to take the entire stasis pod with them back to the Divine Realm of the Indus Pantheon and then they could work on patching her up. At the same time, he knew that she would be rather problematic to deal with, because it wouldn't really take a long for the Naberius House or at least, the surviving members to proclaim her as criminal.

However, the Naberious House won't really exist much longer due to the scheme that he was hatching for them.

The destruction of the House Naberius was must because it would weaken the Old Satan Faction considerably, as they were probably the sole House in the New Satan Faction that was entirely on the side of the Old Satan Faction and was in the deep infiltration of the New Satan Faction.

"As you wish."

Valiana didn't have a problem with taking the stasis pod containing Subject Zero-X back with them to the Divine Realm of the Hindu Pantheon if that was needed. It was the best solution that they had for now, because even Valiana understood that they could not resolve the problems with the Nekoshou right here and right now.

"Then bring the stasis pod and Zaorama to one place. When I go to the 3rd Layer of the Lucifaad's Research Facility to find the Melabranche, you will go and teleport out of the Lucifaad back to the Mount Kailash, where the help from the Wards in this place."

Yhwach said because they have already obtained almost everything in the research area of the facility. He was right now downloading all of the research from the terminals, and his other companions were gathering the rather precious samples, which he concluded would serve him well in future research.

The only thing which remained now were the Melabranche on the 3rd Layer and the main reason why he had chosen to raid the Lucifaad Research Facility in the first place, despite the fact that this place was swarming with the members of the Old Satan Faction.

"As you wish."

Valiana didn't have much to complain about because she understood that it would be much safer for Yhwach to enter the 3rd Layer and obtain Melabranche when he was alone. He wasn't going to fight the Melabranche or even awaken them in the first place but just to seal them and teleport out of the Underworld the moment he got his hands on the Melabrache.
