Chapter 120 - Warnings and Battle Plan (Patreon)

In truth, this wasn't any unusual behavior from the members of the Dragonlord Families, as they would just take what they wanted. It wasn't like anyone could actually do anything about this due to the overwhelming power that the Dragonlord Families possessed.
"Just ignore her... as long as nothing happens, it would go most unnoticed. From my own experience with the members of the Dragonlord Families, they will mostly ignore everyone who is not a fellow Dragonlord."
Camille Ferros stated that she had her fair share of experiences with the Dragonlord Families and knew that they tended to ignore anyone and anything that wasn't worth their attention.
Which was approximately 99% of the things. She knew that as long as Valkorion and the rest of the Trifarian Mercenary Company did their job, they wouldn't be doing much about them.
The chances of something really valuable appearing in the headquarters of the bandits and brigands that would attract the attention of the members of the Belaerys Family were... pretty low.
However, one couldn't really underestimate any possibility.
He needed to take into consideration the fact that there would be something that would attract the attention of the members of the Belaerys Family. Though, considering the fact that the Trifarian Mercenary Company would be accompanied by someone of the direct lineage of the Belaerys Family, he seriously doubted that.
"You can send the shipments to the Cartharys by tomorrow. Within 72 hours, all of the routes would be cleaned by the Valyrian Legion as General Belaerys had already ordered his troops to start clearing out various bandit nests within the vicinity of the Cartharys."
Valkorion said that he sometimes couldn't really understand the chaotic state of the Valyrian Freehold and how it could actually function as a state. Practically almost everyone and anyone was doing what they wanted in this dammed place, and the Dragonlords were acting independently of each other.
The worst was that if they were in control of some Legion or something that officially, on paper, belonged to the state, then it was also a pretty big and weird mess.
"I will take note of that. Good work on talking with General Belaerys and on the extermination of the bandits."
Camille said as she repeated a lot of rewards from this; all of her plans flourished very beautifully. She obtained more than she initially anticipated and was pretty satisfied with the outcome.
As long as the entire group of the Arvinos-backed bandits and brigands got wiped out, then the merchant caravans of the Ferros Chamber of Commerce, all of her goals would be completed.
Not to mention, with the incriminating evidence that he had brought to General Belaerys, it was only a matter of time until the Dragonlord Council started investigating the Arvinos Clan and their connection to the Sons of the Harpy.
Once the connection was confirmed, then the Arvinos Clan would be considered extremely lucky if they were not wiped out to the last child. This was a rather common practice by the Dragonlords for those who were considered traitors to the Freehold.
Even though the Arvinos Clan was never a subject of the Freehold, they were instead subjects of their vassals.
But that was just a tiny detail.
Nobody would really care about such a thing in the end.
"You should be careful of the bandits. Who knows what the Arvinos Clan gave them so they could behave like a local tyrant for a long time? Even though the intelligence-gathering capabilities of the Clan Ferros are very good, they are not infallible."
Camille said as she didn't really wish that they had walked into an ambush for one reason or another.
She suspected that the bandits would have something up their sleeves because she found it almost extremely unreal that they were able to remain alive and functioning well without some sort of security.
They must have had something that was making them confident in themselves too much, and whatever they had, it wasn't good for them at all. The Trifarian Mercenary Company needed to be very careful about that.
Even Valkorion understood that if the Arvinos Clan was connected to the Sons of the Harpy, then it wouldn't mean anything good for them.
"Are you thinking that the Arvinos got something from the Sons of the Harpy, who, in turn, passed it to the bandits to make them safe and successful in their endeavors?"
Valkorion asked because even though the Sons of the Harpy were just rather funny, the Beoynder Organization was just a bad joke and a hollow shell of their former self; once in the past, it was a very powerful Beoynder Organization.
It wasn't really out of the question that the Arvinos Clan obtained some Sealed Artifacts from the Sons of the Harpy.
It was very possible that when the Freehold destroyed the Ghiscari Empire and annihilated all of the Ghiscari Beyonder Organizations, not every piece of their heritage and background was taken by the Freehold.
"Yes... it is possible that the Arvinos have given the bandits some Sealed Artifacts. Most probably, they have the Sealed Artifacts that the bandits are using for the concealment of their location; this is something that our spies are very suspicious of because the Sealed Artifact cannot be activated permanently, but only for a short amount of time. The second Sealed Artifact should be some sort of weapon."
This wasn't anything surprising as Valkorion nodded.
"I will take it into account."
Valkorion said as they then exchanged final pleasantries, as he cut the call through the Glass Candles. His discussion with Camille Ferros was finished, and now, he needed to return to the rest of the Trifarian Mercenary Company and decide on their next steps.
As the leader of the Trifarian Mercenary Company, he needed to submit the report on their battle plans to General Belaerys. The battle plan needed to exist enough so General Belaerys would agree to the battle plan.
Most obviously, he wouldn't be working on these battle plans by himself alone, as that would be left to the officers of the Trifarian Mercenary Company, who were far more proficient and experienced in military matters than he was or ever would be.
When he returned back to the Tenebraenys Manor, the Cadres of the Trifarian Mercenary Company were already working hard on the formulation of the battle plan against the brigands that had their fort in the small valley north of the Cartharys.
It was the outskirts area of the Painted Mountains, meaning even most of the goblinoids, for some reason, were avoided in that area. As almost all members of the Cadres of the Trifarian Mercenary Company were former Officers of the Valyrian Legions, they were very experienced in this, so Valkorion let them do their job.
The only thing that he reminded them of was that they needed to take into account that they would have the support of the Dragonlord. If the Freehold was ordering one of such Dragonlords to oversee the operation, then Valkorion decided to make use of it, as it would make many, many things easier.
On top of everything, just the fact that there was Dragonlord with them meant that they didn't really need to fear almost any Mid-Sequence Beyonder at this point. Every adult dragon was a Sequence 4 Extraordinary Creature.
