Chapter 122 - Bloodblade Bandit Group (2) (Patreon)

The plan sounded good.
If they could assassinate the enemy Beyonders and join the fight against the non-Beyonder badnits, then the Bloodblade Bandits would be exterminated in a mere moments. Valkorion was aware that the distance between the Beyonder and non-Beyonder was huge.
Even he, who was Sequence 6 - Beast Knight, could slaughter several tens, if not more than a hundred men, in battle without much problem. His stamina, strength, speed, and physical capabilities were all drastically increased and enhanced.
"Then it's agreed. I would be taking with me Kled and Glinthorn."
As soon as Valkorion said that, the psychotic Yordle jumped in the excitement, while the minotaur just grunted in agreement as he readied his axe.
While the minotaur wasn't the most suitable for the stealth actions, he was the only Sequence 6 Beyonder of the Trifarian Mercenary Company that could be taken with them onto the mission.
The only other Sequence 6 Beyonder was Darius, but Darius was essentially the commander of the entire Trifarian Mercenary Company, and he couldn't go out on the stealth mission because he was needed to command the troops.
And the stealth problem would be easily solved through the chaos that they would cause, because during the mess, nobody would pay attention to a few sneaking up on people.
Especially not the group of bandits with their almost non-existent military discipline, which was really poor, as even right now, many bandits who were playing at sentries were actually drinking and laughing as they were watching the terrain.
It was really terrible for the guards to have this kind of morale and discipline, but alas, they were bandits, so the expectations were low in the very first place.
As soon as they had a preliminary plan, Darius and Rhaenar Aertheos went to educate the troops on the battle plan, while the three Sequence 6 Beyonders prepared for the assault that they would carry out during the chaos.
***
Valkorion had to admit that the chaos that they had created had really paid off, because right now, he, together with Kled and Aruk Glinthorn, were already in the encampment of the Bloodblade Bandits, and they were waiting for the fighting to start.
It was really amusing to see the bandits acting so frantically as they were running here and there, attempting to grasp the situation and what the hell was exactly going on. He predicted that they had never really thought that somebody would be able to find them in this encampment.
There were no real protocols for the defense, as the next course of action that the bandits took was just to flood out of their fort on the enemy. It was beyond stupid tactics, and they did it without much preparation or thought...
And it was proved to be a fatal mistake as they soon learned.
Once a significant portion of the bandits was lured out, Valkorion predicted that Darius's plan was able to lure around two hundred to three hundred of them; they were greeted with several volleys of arrows.
The troops of the Trifarian Mercenary Company were trained in many forms of combat, and it did help that there were plenty of the former Legionaries of the Valyrian Legions with professional military training among their ranks.
Just in mere seconds, the bandits of the Bloodblade started falling one after another, as the arrows pierced through their vitals, one needed to add through their unprotected vitals, because the armor situation was bad.
Like it was common among bandits and brigands around the world, most of them wore only light armor, primarily leather or very thin ones from ordinary metals, because most of the bandits wanted agility and speed.
Swift attacks, quick fight, and fast escape.
Such was their combat style.
Wearing heavy armor or heavy pieces of metal would slow them down considerably, so only the commanders in their ranks or other equivalents usually had heavier types of armor or armor pieces.
The maximum protection the bandits could afford was a combination of light and heavy pieces, as some of them used heavy armor to protect their vital areas, such as the head and neck.
But it wasn't really that common.
Nevertheless, the result was still the same, as the unprotected vital areas became their doom, as the troops of the Trifarian Mercenary Company greeted the charging bandits with arrow after arrow.
This expected or unexpected outcome didn't escape the commanders among the Bloodblade Bandits that were still in the fort as they started shouting something about retreat and defense, but Valkorion didn't really pay a lot of attention to it.
"Everyone knows what to do?"
Valkorion asked Kled and Aruk Glinthorn, as both nodded and then disappeared to carry out their tasks. The Bloodblade Bandits had altogether five Beyonders, all of them were Sequence 7 Beyonders.
Which wasn't really a lot, considering their success in operations over the past years. Therefore, the reason behind their success must be the information provided by the Arvinos Clan, the element of surprise, and the Sealed Artifacts.
The only thing about which Valkorion was wary was the Sealed Artifacts that they were given by the Arvinos Clan.
He himself held Excalibur, as the runic blade almost shook with anticipation of the destruction of vile and evil, as he jumped to the nearest baddie and with one swing of his sword, he separated its head from its body.
He didn't linger for long as he rushed toward the next and then the next, as he was killing his way to the top of one of the watchtowers in the fort. He noticed that on the top of the watchtower, there was Beyonder, Sequence 7 Pugilist, who was commanding the battle.
Valkorion didn't know if it was the bandit chief of the Bloodblade Bandits, but he was Beyonder and thus was on his list of must-kill. For Valkorion, who was a Sequence 6 Beast Knight, it didn't take long to kill his way to the watchtower, as he left behind a trail of dismembered corpses.
His Beast Companion, Great Magma Drake Glaurung, was terrorizing the ordinary bandits because the small drake was jumping here and there, from one bandit to another, as he was tearing through their necks and arteries.
Despite his small stature, the physical capabilities of the Great Magma Drake were comparable to those of an average Sequence 7 Beyonder with abilities like Physical Enhancement.
He was too fast for the average soldier to react, as he had already killed seven bandits. What was more interesting, that from each bandit that Glaurung killed, he was able to steal some of their Life Force ot himself, greatly accelerating the time needed to become a true Extraordinary Creature.
It seemed that the little guy had some really interesting mutation or just had some special Bloodline, which wasn't really out of the question.
Some True Dragons, Wyverns, and Drakes possessed mutations that allowed them to have some really peculiar abilities, or they had some special Bloodlines that made them much stronger than the members of the same species.
Valkorion swung his sword as he got rid of some remaining blood on the blade and as he entered the watchtower, heading directly for the head of the Sequence 7 Pugilist bandit, as he was cutting down everything in his path.
