Fursuit head making series? (Patreon)

Would anyone be interested in a multi-month series where we make a fursuit head from start to finish?

Thinking something like

Month 1 : modelling and printing the base (or casting the base)

Month 2: Patterning and sewing

Month 3: glueing, making eyes/teeth etc, final finishing

I would love that. Would you also go through making for different sizes/shapes fittings as well for different people? Not sure how that all works inside the head.

That’s not something I’m personally interested in but I’m sure others would be. Maybe you could just let us know how long it will be so those of us who aren’t interested could pause our membership during that time.

I'd love that, I want to make a fursuit but the style of head I want is hard to find so I'd probably have to make my own but I'm kind of lost. I'm trying to do a suit with realistic proportions So I need the head as close to my head size as I can.

Would be extremely interested. There's not many seriously skilled series that show the process in the easy to follow way you present your instructions!

It wouldn't be for me personally but it looks like a lot of people are interested and I'd say you'd get a lot of new people who would join just for that so I don't think you'd take any financial hit if you were to go ahead with it.

Ohhh I'd love that! I've tried foam before and it didn't really work out, so I used the scraps to make something else!

if it included a foam base (eva foam) head option and an alternative to 3d printed and cast items, eyes, nose etc, it wld be accessible to more people, myself included, as not everyone has those tools, especially for the first part. I have foam and a box cutter tool XD. This way it cld be scaled down to plush to. Its your platform though, you do you <3

This. I love this concept idea for a series but I do worry we get further and further from traditional techniques in favor of 3D patterning and 3D printing things now. Not everyone has these resources and tools and I'm getting tired over the expectation that everyone does and everyone else can go suck an egg I guess. Like all the sublimation lately. It's great IF you have sublimation setup but if you don't..you're stuck.

Yes! I make fursuits and I kind of just fumble through some things (necks especially). I'm looking to go beyond and start selling my work, so any kind of help is greatly appreciated. My only thing is that I don't have the means of doing things like 3D printed heads and sublimation. (I rather enjoy painting the eyes) other than that I think this is a wonderful idea!

Month 3 sounds neat, but I am not really planning to make any fursuits so I rather opt out. I am curious on the species you are planning to do. Also If you do make it, would it weed people out? Like if you don't have a 3d printer or able to make (silicon?) molds. Would it be making a head from cutting foam or a premade foam head? Because In a situation I did want to opt in, I would immediately have to opt out if I do not have the space or tools for the job.
