Used some metallic thread for the first time today. I have always steered clear of it since I’d heard it was a nightmare.

Definitely has some challenges. You have to baby it the entire time. I lowered the tension on my machine (from 3 to 2), slowed speed to about half, and held it between my fingers to stop it tangling (it wants to twist constantly).

If any of these conditions changed it would snap instantly. Needed a lot of attention but it can be usable. I’m excited to use it more

Considering how difficult that is to work with, it is so impressive that you've made it come out perfect!

From my experience, some brand of metallic thread behaves much better than other. Madeira metallic thread worked really well on my machine, I barely had to adjust any settings !

I love metallic and glitter thread I also change the needle

I didn't. My local sewing store advised not to since 'metallic' needles are made for sewing machines not embroidery machines. I didn't seem to need one, just used my regular universal

Ahhhh I see! In the past I've changed to a metallic needle and found it really helped but that was a long time ago 😅 Might be worth a try though if you'll be using the threads more often!
