This character has a fair few dots around their face. Instead of having to hand sew them in I opted to embroider them. Faster, cleaner and more durable.

The more I see you mention embroidery, the more interesting it becomes to check out if they sell a cheap starter machine around here. Would you happen to have a list of your used equipment, so I can see what model your using?

I use a bernina 830 LE, but that's a very high end $$ machine I happened to get a good deal on second hand. I'd recommend the brother line machines for starting out/cheaper options

Embroidery on faux fur sounds like such a pain! Do you have any tips?

NazFX_Studios

It wasn’t as bad as I expected! I shaved the fur down as thin as possible, then just treated it the same as minky. I wouldn’t try on a fur that wasn’t shaved super thin if that helps

The cheapest you'll find is probably in the Brother SE400 series (400, 440, etc) which does sewing and embroidery and has a 4x4 inch embroidery area. If you're not sure you'll stick with it then I think its a good starting point to try things out but if you're more serious about it then saving up for a Brother PE800 (or PE770 if you can find it used) could be a better idea as it has a larger embroidery area at 5x7 That said, keep an eye on prices at the moment since last I checked there was a huge markup due to high demand and low supply during 2020. If you can find a local place it might be better price wise
