My sublimation printer arrived today. Long story short it was delivered to a random address in my suburb and thankfully the reciever was kind enough to bring it to me and not keep it themselves. Crisis averted.

With this I'll be able to do my own printed minky (and other things) at home. Very excited about what this will allow me to do, including using printed minky occassionally for some patreon patterns and then providing you guys with the file via spoonflower or to print it yourself at home if you want to invest in one of these.

I'll share my experience with it as I start using it. Still waiting on the heat press which should arrive tomorrow.

Soo exciting! Eager to see all the amazing designs you'll come up with!

Nice neighbor! Oh I am so excited to see what the results will look like! Do you show the work with it maybe also in a video? I am also longer thinking about buying something like that. But I just have no more space. :D Have fun!

Freckled Cat Creations

I agree with Varonya, I really hope you'll show some videos of what it's like to work with it! I currently print minky through spoonflower, but if it's cheaper/more efficient to print at home, I might invest in something like this. the main thing I'm curious about is if home printing will let you control the dye sinking in deeper into the fibers.

I feel like three different plush makers all got sublimation printers in the last month... was there a sale?? lol I'm excited to see what you make!

Happy Baker

This is so cool! I cant wait to see what you make with it!

Tasheena

So glad to hear your have an honest neighbor!! Really excited about this, as I just got a sublimation printer myself!

I think you will always have the issue of the ink not sinking right to the base. You can use shorter minky to mitigate this but it will never reach the bottom regardless

NazFX_Studios

Unfortunately not this was super expensive haha

Varonya

I don't like Spoonflowers Minky at all. And they use quite short fur anyway, guess 1-1.5mm or? It's always too short for me. What interests me: I know it so that is always printed on white Minky. Can you also print on darker colors and how does the result look then?

NazFX_Studios

Yeah it has to be short for the best results. You can print on coloured minky but then you can’t print light onto dark. So the colors will blend/overlay with the color of the base fabric. You couldn’t print on black or a super dark color

That One

oooooooooooh that's awesome!

Kat Aclysm

Eeee I'm so keen to see what you do with this! I'd love to buy one of these one day, too, but alas, the pricetag cannot be justified while I'm such a filthy casual XD

Arisaria

Oh, so cool! Out of curiosity, what model this is?

Emi Curtis

Can you post videos of the printing? I'm curious as to see something being printed.

NazFX_Studios

it's just like printing on paper, you use a paper specifically for dye sub. Then put that on top of your minky and transfter it with a heat press
