More Raichu (Patreon)

I had some time to kill while I wait for the weather to clear so I can cast. I glued down Raichu’s fur to the foam head and made his basic pvc skeleton. Without it he would really struggle to stand/hold his own weight. Search the Raichu tag for previous wips if interested.

I also cut a flat piece of marine grade plywood to cap off the bottom of the hollow foam head. This will mean I don’t have to stuff the head but it will have more support when I sit it on top of the stuffed body. I’ll cut a hole through it so the pvc can go all the way to the top of his head.

Another thing I thought was interesting was the color difference between the orange on the head vs the orange of the unstuffed body. I thought that the fur was too fluro for my liking but was as close a color as I was ever going to get. Turns out when it is stuffed it appears much less bright (compare the head vs body). This effect seems to happen with both minky and fur. The outward/convex shapes of the plush make the fur reflect more light and appear lighter than when flat. I’m really glad it turned out this way because the color looks far better and softer IMO.
