Tiffany's birth name is Stephanie Young Hwang. Tiffany is her stage name because at that time CSJH The Grace which was their sunbae group in SM, there was already a member named Stephanie. Tiffany chose Tiffany as her stage name because her mom originally wanted to name her Tiffany. Tiffany's mom passed away when she was a young teenager so the name Tiffany was like an homage to her mom. Fun fact, when Tiffany debuted in the US her official name was Tiffany Young to combine her history in Korea and SNSD as Tiffany and Young for her middle name but also her korean name mi-young. She wanted to represent both her past and present identities in this new chapter of her career so Tiffany Young was born. Hope that helped :)

continuing the conversation about stage names... for similar reasons; Seohyun and Irene both have stage names because instead of JuHyun. All though it's fun that the 2 of them are the same age with the same name and have stage names. also Sunny's actual English name or at least the one she was given at birth was Susan

SNSD - Intimate Note for Tier 2? Maybe ??? I just love it when you guys react to Sooyoung unfiltered/throw hands comment all the time

Tiffany’s name given at birth was Stephanie Young Hwang she chose to promote as Tiffany because it was the name her mom initially wanted for her and as of now she promotes as Tiffany Young if anyone was curious.

Yuri, Yoona, and See were also called "Bermuda Triangle" because they looked very similar and confused people, especially in early days lol

Tiffany went by a different name because there was another female artist in SM promoting as Stephanie (Stephanie from ChungSangJiHi The Grace) , and SM didn't want two of the same being promoted at the same time. Similar to Sooyoung (GG) and Sooyoung (Joy from Red Velvet), and JuHyun (Seohyun from GG) and Juhyun (Irene from Red Velvet)
