Bicol Express (Gwen's favorite food) is hella spicy when made the authentic way, but it's basically pork cooked with shrimp paste and coconut milk plus chilies, very good. if you don't like spicy, just don't add the chilies and it still tastes amazing :) Questions for BINI: 1) If you could spend a day with Blooms, what activities would you want to do? and 2) Who in BINI has the funniest and the corniest jokes?

Filipino chef based in Australia here 🙋😁 I’ve done Filipino Fridays before, and based on my Aussie friends, I suggest this simple introduction: 1. Chicken Inasal (grilled chicken) 2. Lumpia (spring rolls) 3. Lechon Kawali/Bagnet (crispy pork belly) 4. Pancit Canton (stir-fried noodles) 5. Adobo (a staple dish in the Philippines) Dessert: 1. Halo-Halo 2. Saging Con Yelo (my favorite!) Filipino cuisine is mostly paired with rice and incredibly diverse, too many dishes to mention. You’ll also be introduced to the concept of “sawsawan”, where you create your own dipping sauce according to your taste or preference. I reckon these dishes are a great introduction for a western palate.

I suggest Sinigang and Sisig for food to try! Sinigang is a sour soup and Sisig is like a savory/tangy minced pork dish served on a hot plate!

I love how Bini is very vocal in their support of inclusivity. It’s very brave actually to even be vocal about their support of the LGBTQ community. I think it’s reflective of the culture they’re in. Being a K-Pop fan for a long time, it’s something that I’ve always felt sad about how that’s so taboo with them. Seeing this kind of authenticity and inclusivity with Bini is indeed so refreshing.

Houston girlie here! We have Filipino restaurants here in our city that you can try out first. Gerry's grill and Max's Fried Chicken are both a good place to start. The dishes they mentioned in the video are staple entrees you can start with. There are fusion places too in the Katy area (Patis and Toyo and Flip n Patties).

Han… I vaguely remember you saying you were allergic to nuts? When you guys were talking about the Coconut Nut. Kare-kare is peanut based stew. Just thought you ought to know. 😳😳😳
