The reason why their mics were messed up during MAMA and MMA was because for these performances, there are people actively turning their mics on and off for their respective lines, so it doesn't pick up them breathing or other noises. So when it's not a member's part, their mic's volume is turned down and turned back up only when their part comes on. Whoever was in charge of that which I believe was the audio producers for each event, were messing up the right order for some members. Maybe why Karina's and Ningning's mics were fine but always on and off for Winter's and Giselle's. Mnet, Inkygayo, Music Bank do this flawlessly. I find it hard to believe it's an SM thing.

i don't know about that this tends to be a pretty consistent thing with aespa performances where a couple of the mics are super low (tends to be winter and giselle) while most of the other groups at the same award shows aren't having major mic issues. also the girls in this video seemed nervous about the fact that the company had only supplied them with temporary iems and not their normal ones, which can effect sound and how well they can hear themselves. they were literally worried about the sound and then the sound ended messed up. maybe if it was more rare i would believe its simply an event mistake.
