The asking to be exclusive friends with benefits kills me every time 🤣 and I agree that the author ate with the tropes in this

Reminder that they can't just go to HR and sign some forms to date openly at the same location because their company has a policy of no relationships between employees, especially management. Both of them are department heads, so in the companies view they would be setting a bad example. I think they mentioned it in ep1 or 2 but the mentions can be so easy to miss. This kind of labor law is common practice in other places like Thailand, and they can absolutely lose their jobs with no recourse and a bad rep that can make it hard to get other work in your field if you're caught first. They can let the company know, but it's understood that one person will then be submitting their resignation. Now if the company has other branches, they might be able to transfer if a position is available, but no guarantees. Like these characters, many Thai are also working for their families that rely on the money they make to be sent back home, so the pressure to choose a job over love is strong. There are a few goofy tropes in the show, but this isn't one of them. Thailand has many social rules and is surprisingly a conservative country in some ways. As far the show being predictable, all I can say is welcome to most of Thai gl 😂 For me, it's the long crying scenes in most Thai dramas I get irritated with, I feel bad for reactors because you can't fast forward like I can. Thanks for hanging in there Kess & Han❤️
