I had the notion that I needed to try to reuse the lighting scheme from the Malon sketch I did earlier in the month. Her hair is a little less wild in this version, which might be a bit of a loss, but this time I had the excuse to put in a bunch of dusty bits of straw floating around. I like to image Malon doesn't have allergies.

This is also another chance for me to express my love of Bernie Wrightson's Frankenstein illustrations 😂 Tonally a weird, unrelated reference point to Malon, but in terms of beautiful illustrations involving beds of hay, it's exactly on point.

💙Happy Thursday, everyone!

The light coming through the cracks in the boards and the way it’s illuminating the particles in the air is insane. This illustration is so damn petty and I am incredibly impressed.

I'm always chasing after this elusive sleepy, endless summer feeling in my work. It's so lovey dovey and romantic and fleeting.

Wow just beautiful! Even more nostalgia that’s just done amazingly!

It’s bound to be superb when you have convinced me, someone who doesn’t like the texture of hay (shudders), feel like I’d wanna lounge there in that scene and just *luxuriate* lmao 😆 But forreals ugh it’s so 👌🏽💕
