Let me know if you want any specific and or authentic details/knowledge, im currently in my bachelor for it and spent years in multiple different libraries 💖

Did you ever work in a library with a rare book room? I'm curious to know about any special details about those. I've been in one before and while all my stories are a little magical realism inclined, I like the authentic details!!👀

I have not Yet but i have an apprenticeship lined up for one after my graduation! One detail is there's an old type of book that is known as "emerald green" and it is toxic/dangerous to handle due to arsenic in its dye. But also, if there's old books somewhere they likely dont only store old books but also letters and documents. Its likely a basement, old, very heavily ac controlled, carefully lit. And sooooo many shelves

I hadn't thought about all the letters and documents!! Interesting! Is there a technical difference between a librarian and an archivist or is it just based on what kind of institution you work for?

Pidge Wilhelm

Actually, yes to both of those. Typically archives and library are seperate things with seperate skill sets and degrees. BUT, technically, archives are libraries but libraries aren't archives

Goootcha, thank you for the lesson! 🙏 I know I'm writing erotic fiction, not library science fiction, lol but it's nice to know details that add flavor 😌

Another librarian, yes to everything Pidge has said! Also archives are no windows for preservation, so could be another funtime spot! Mine has objects like old era clothing in a pressed box, and while itd be VERY BAD practice for Libby to wear those clothes or use othrr old artifacts for a sexy roleplay ... itd be sooo hot 🖤

Good luck in your program! Us thirsty librarians keep our towns turning 🥰

Rico

I can’t wait to see what fantasies Libby comes up with this time 😋
