After reaching maturity, female kangaroos are constantly pregnant. She can pause the development of her embryo, and will give birth when her current joey leaves the pouch. At any one time, she may be caring for 3 joeys at separate stages of development, and is able to simultaneously produce different kinds of milk for each.

A newborn kangaroo is the size of a jellybean.

Female kangaroos have 3 vaginas and 2 uteri. The left and right vaginas are for collecting sperm, and the middle vagina is for giving birth.

They have cloacas.

The male's testicles are located in front of the penis. (Because in Australia, everything has to be upside down)

They store elastic energy in the tendons in their legs, allowing them to hop with a spring action rather than with muscular effort. This means that hopping uses less energy for them than walking, which they do on all fives (using their tail as a fifth leg.)
