"To explore strange new worlds... never mind"

Thomas Cole

Just toss all the votes into the E pile, keep em coming people.

Darren

One of the rare episodes I’d give an E too worst of S7

EnigmaticPenguin

This episode is what I think people who didn’t like Star Trek thought it was. Dull and didactic. Somewhere out there, this was someone’s first exposure and they never watched Trek again, and that’s just sad.

ShazD

Boring techno babble crap

jan

there are parts i really enjoy in this episode - however, not memorable overall - too bad cause the message could have been serious and important, and some fun scenes with Data as well

Alex Gershman

Preachy and annoying, a haven for climate-change cultists of today.

Actuarial Lurker

To SLOWLY go where no one has gone before....

TalynOne

Hated this episode, it shoe horned in a dumb limitation into the Trek universe which was unneeded and was best ignored. Also in this episode Data's cat Spot changes sexes and is now a "she", Trek is truly progressive.

TinMan_7B9

Dumb, Dreary, Disgusting! Destroy DVD! Delete Datafile! Dear Geor-D, Don't Despair! Da D's Dilithium Drive Doesn't Do Devastating Damage Dammit!

ScarlettMi

I think Captain Planet had more nuance in teaching me about the environment and climate change when I was a kid. This was really poorly executed and I'm someone who thinks there's a place for heavy handed messaging from time to time.

SetsunaYuki

Such a stupid episode. Though any episode that boxes in a core concept of the show instead of exploring it is bad in my opinion. I can't remember but I'm pretty sure this is forgotten the further time goes on or they magically make engines that don't rip space apart?

jon bolton

D, and the absolute bottom of my S7 ranking.

Summer

There are worse season 7 episodes for me, but this does get put in a group where I will only watch now with reactors.

GratChat

This is a low C for me. I think mostly because it find it so meh that I can’t even be bothered to be annoyed by it enough to give it a D. We get to see the crew solving an issue, there’s some good moments between characters but otherwise it’s just mehhhhhhh.

Binty McFrazzles

I find this episode a bit odd. The Space Hippies are keen to protect their environment, and the Captain does what they ask in regards to the research. However, Serova then "proves" her theory by polluting it! ie: It's like environmentalists proving that oil harms sealife by pouring oil into the ocean, deliberately harming the sealife. C at best.

BadWolf_359

Don't worry, they never talk about the galactic speed limit again. Ok, maybe one other time.

Jim J

The epitome of E-tier. Amazingly, it is still not the worst episode of the season.

Alex Guillotte

This is one of my favorites, but I also saw it when it first aired, and the issues it was commenting on were only just beginning to be addressed by the world at large.

Brian Roman

I'm curious how you can give melora so much praise when it's guilty of the same blatant virtue signaling and outright lazy storytelling as this episode. What's the difference? Both try to force some virtue onto the audience and it's totally unearned

Emodramabomb

We just need a star trek'ed version of Smokey the Bear to pop up. "Only YOU can prevent subspace rifts".
