Cave man Will trying to sell insurance to Picard

misti-step

re my dads reaction, he happily showed me khans original episode and then wrath of khan!

Episode goes too far, regardless of how well, or not, a viewer enjoys it. One of my intense dislikes in ST is the ridiculous ease that characters' DNA is altered, making them even into alien species, only to effortlessly revert them to their original form by episode's end. If a writer has to resort to that level of unreality, then the story should be shelved instead.

Love Gates directing not the episode

Worf as some sort of proto-Klingon animal was a great practical effect. In full lighting it probably looked silly but with the shadows it was really well done. As far as the entertainment value of it as an episode. There are people who love pro wrestling so find it entertaining and people who find it absurd and can’t stand watching it. Neither is “wrong” as it all comes down to personal preferences. Just as with the sci-fi technology and technobabble in the show. Some find it a tedious distraction while others are really inspired by it. Many of the latter rode that inspiration to became engineers and designers and built some pretty amazing gadgets. Like flip phones, iPads and motion sensing sliding doors.

Your pro-wrestling comparison is really shrewd. I'm just the type of viewer who needs a story grounded in some fundamental way. I appreciate that mine isn't the only valid viewpoint for watching a piece of entertainment.

I would have liked to have seen Wesley as an annoying little ferret or gerbil. 🤔

Dru Blood

Love this one. It easily tops the list of favorites. Perfect S.

One of the things that always bugged me about Star Trek. Most of the time its, 'Yeah, lots of techno babble, but its consistent, and often based on at least some science (even if purely theoretical), and we try not to be purely stupid." Then we get an episode connected to evolution and they go, "Hold my beer!" Mind, I don't hate these episodes, it just bugs the heck out of me that they pick science that half the bloody US doesn't understand properly and just feet first into nonsense that just feeds into that incomprehension.
