Guys? At the end, it’s all connected as it was in the first three seasons. Try to figure it out before they tell you.

Thicketdweller

I am enjoying my Thanksgiving dessert of the expanse. Looking forward to the next episode even if you guys aren’t although I think you’re going to enjoy the season before it’s over

Tim Nikiforovs

I do like that ending shot though, cutting to black from the POV of the guy Murtry shot. I dig the direction.

I feel ya, guys. I won't lie: The Expanse is one of my favorite sci-fi tv shows. But it's so boring for huge stretches at times. I almost gave up on it a couple of episodes into the first season, and again a few other times. I will say that the start of S4 is tepid. But the ending is good. But that's just my $.02.

KingPin124

Geeez, smile you guys 😅

Bridge crew, put them out of their misery

Ron

Definitely not my favorite season, but you need to get through it to get to S5 and S6.

Worf and Riker Ride Again

Season 4 is definitely a slow burn at the start (minus Murtry, who’s a great character) but it does pick up and end in a great and unexpected way. I hope you make it to season 5, by far the best of the bunch

DG

Judging from my experience watching the show when it first came out, I don't think the best way to consume it is in batches with several week gaps in between.

Wizardling

I'm understanding way more why new BSG did not work for you guys, if you're this annoyed with a slow burn of a story.

Wizardling

Addressing a couple question from the guys: The ship in orbit is the one that the blown up shuttle was sent from, that brought the surviving Earther and Mars backed scientist and company security (Murtry's bunch). You'll remember being told they had been sent shortly before the Rocinante was dispatched by Avasarala to deal with the protomolecule tech discovered on this alien planet. Moons can be anything from bare rock to a planet with atmosphere to a gas planet (like our Jupiter). All anything needs to be classed as a moon, is that it be orbiting another planet, as opposed to having its own independent orbit.

~Hello from the future~ Part of it is the show's fault. The first season was so short that it ended halfway through the first book's story. So then Season 2 opens halfway through Leviathan Wakes and the climax happens halfway through Season 2. Then Season 2 ends halfway through Caliban's War, so Season 3 starts in the middle and gets the climax of the second book halfway through the season. And then it covers all of Abaddon's Gate in the second half of Season 3. So, weirdly, this is the first time since Season 1 that we have started a season at the start of a book arc and we got two book arc finales in Season 3. So it's understandable that it feels slow. J&A have said the same thing at the start of the other arcs (S1 with Miller on the station, S2 with the Epstein Drive stuff, and S3 with the belter pilot flying through the ring gate). It's just been a while since the slow part actually happened at the start of a season instead of its mid-point.

uberelder

guess i'll be a bit of a defector. The Expanse peaked in S2/S3. Prax + Amos basically. I also like the Miller / Holographic Investigator arc. there is some good stuff coming up here and there, but it's few and far between.

I love this series. I don't like season 4. I was very pleasantly surprised to find I loved the book version. Sometimes the books are not as good as the show, but season 4 is nowhere near as good as the book for this season. Every other season is good though.
