Gentlemen- The Vegas Trek thing is great- went to my first convention at age 8 in 1974 IN NYCsince I'm from there. My 3rd grade friend/classmate bought Spock ears and glued them on and walked around class with them and we formed our own Star Trek club/gang with ID cards and would act out scenes from TOS. Had all the plastic models and toys that you had to build and model glue together- communicator, phaser, TOS shuttle craft, TOS Enterprise, Tricorder, Romulan Bird of Prey...some other classmates had the Bridge with transporter and the action figures.... https://fanlore.org/wiki/Star_Trek_Lives!_(convention)/1974 My wife and I are both BIG DS9 fans and she loves Voyager but I can't stand it so hopefully on rewatching for the 4th or 5th time I appreciate it more... My female boss back in 2000 was also a big DS9 fan and she and her husband went to the auction in NYC where they sold off the props after DS9 ended its run- she bought Bajoran earrings for herself and her husband paid $2000 for a pair of Cardassian weapons from the show. They were actually auctioning off the DS9 full station scale model used to shoot the intro credits but wanted a crazy amount for it- something like $50K as the opening bid.... Hope you don't get spoiled by the actors from the shows you haven't seen- interesting to see who is commanding $50 versus $100s for autographs...you'd never guess who would be popular decades later...looks like Gowron with his real life bug-eyes will be there as will Clint Howard

Whenever I've been to Vegas or AC I only spend $300-$500, use $5 chips at the roulette wheel and a few times I've gotten lucky and wound up being up $140-$160 bucks and then just stop. In 1997 I went to Vegas for a business conference and Randy Johnson was having a 20-4 year pitching year with an ERA in the 1.70 range with 300 Ks and I laid down $20 bucks at lower than even odds for him to win at the sports book and of course it was on one of his four losses... A friend of mine worked with a few Wall Street "quants" who taught him how to count cards for a 4 or 6 deck shoe in Black Jack and he will go in with $20K and play for an entire 3-day business conference and walk out up $40K or $60K and at worst break even. Another guy who was a senior partner at the consulting firm where I worked on the same 1997 Vegas Trip and started with $20K was up to close to $200K playing black jack- he was handing out $100 chips to women coworkers saying- "buy yourself some Manolo Balanik shoes" and things like that- about 5 hours and more than 15 free drinks later he had blown the $20OK and was down $40K and asked for the chips back so he could keep losing....if he had just stopped while ahead he could have bought a house or a boat with that money...
