Cory Paton

Awesome 🙌 looking forward to the Visionary reaction!

Kaleigh

Those better be real tears, Alex and Josh!

Matthew Ganz

Excellently done -- based on the scenes in the trailer, I'm looking forward to DS9 3X17 and 3x18 :)

Randy Watson

I love DS9 and love these trailers. If you love Season 3 this much I am so hyped for the rest of the series!

Jonathan Bruser

If you can find it, Armin Shimmerman actually wrote a DS9 Novel that takes place sometime in Season Three, I want to say. The novel is titled, "The 34th Rule." Just in case you ever have some downtime and are curious for a DS9 story written by Quark himself.

Ryan

You've got some clips in there from episodes I'm really (HUGELY) excited about. If I have my timing right, S3E17 is Alex's birthday episode? What a perfect birthday gift.

Summer

Perfection, I like episodes 17 and 18 a lot

Matchstick Jose

FYI, DS9 is a station. Things arrive at it.

Dan J Reid

All we need is one episode to hit them as hard as "Lessons," did and I think this could end up being their favourite season of Star Trek ever!

Loot Narsbaar

The station isn't going to blow up

Loot Narsbaar

Still waiting patiently for peak DS9

Godzilla PhD

Jesus. This may be the best one yet.

Miranda

Can't wait to see "DS9 Arrives (Season 3 Part 3)" and also "DS9 Arrives (Season 4 Part 1)"

Miranda

Technically, it arrived at the mouth of the wormhole in the pilot. Though we've established that Josh and Alex don't remember that.

Miranda

Ooh, and based on this, you've already seen S3E17. Really hope Alex enjoyed the heavy amount of the Chief in that one.

J-Ro

This is great! Loved the intercuts with yourselves. Glad you two are enjoying DS9 as much as we have all those years ago. Really great to see them again, this time, with fresh enthusiasm.

ShazD

This show is just cohesive and fantastic. Some of the best serialisation ever and part of that is precisely because it is partially episodic so it gives time for the story to breathe.

Matchstick Jose

Dax: “And as the 34th Rule of Target Audience states, positive reactions are good for engagement.” Quark: “That's the 35th rule.” Dax: “Oh, that's right. What's the 34th?” Quark: “Negative reactions are good for engagement. It's easy to get them confused.”

Numinous2019

Odo being in love with Kira is the 1st major misstep of the show. Close friends and confidants makes sense. Both have been traumatised. Both endured the Cardassian occupation. Both have a tendency to reactivity and extremism. That creates a bond. Now you're going to have to read between the lines here, but I'm in the very best of imaginable company in being opposed to anything more between them.

Deep Red

I know you're not gonna do as many cinematic trailers, so this was a really cool way of paying homage to a lot of great episodes in one. Glory to you and your house

Miranda

I still expect a lot of people on a future S3 episode and the S4 opener to comment, "Now THIS is when DS9 really arrived!" In fact, for that upcoming S3 episode, I might be one of those people!

Crewman #6

DS9 just keeps arriving and arriving and arriving-

Ross Townsend

This should be a poster on their reaction room. Or a T-shirt.

Fire and Bloodwine

I disagree. Odo deserves to feel love even if it's unrequited. It makes things more challenging for him as he grows and becomes his own person away from the Great Link. He is experiencing these things for the first time, he doesn't know what to do with his emotions. Loving Kira makes a lot of sense IMO.

Numinous2019

I do not agree with that take. Re-read my comment again. Remember that I am having to be indirect.

Target Audience

I appreciate the meme, but this (the take in general, not your specific comment) is such a cold take. If we lied and glazed everything our channel would be much larger.

HS

Reading between the lines is basically a spoiler, so I'm sure they'll be happy with that. Odo and Kira are not together at this point and all we know is that Odo is in love with Kira. I agree with you in the sense that I don't see Kira being in love with Odo. Friends yes, more than that from Kira's part, no. If the show does go down the shipping route, they'll have to convince me that Kira feels the same for Odo. They have 4 more seasons to do that. Plenty of time if they do it right.

Matchstick Jose

Yeah, I was just meming. I will say, I think you undersell the appeal of authenticity. The fact that you’re willing to absolutely slag stuff you don’t like just makes for a more enjoyable watch for episodes you do enjoy. If you guys just glazed everything to one degree or another, that would get very boring very fast, at least for me.

Numinous2019

I really don't know why people aren't realising what I'm indicating. Do a search for interviews with......go with your intuition......Yes, it's a bad idea. And there is the proof waiting to be watched/read.

Miranda

I would not trust anyone who said every episode was good. I love Star Trek and I know there are bad episodes. If someone sat there and talked about how great "Masks" and "Emergence" are, I'd probably stop watching their stuff

Miranda

Though, I might be willing to pay you money if you could put on a convincing performance of saying "And the Children Shall Lead" is great.

Fire and Bloodwine

Maybe just talk about the actual episode. Whoa can't believe it was the Female Founder! What a b

Numinous2019

I am talking about this episode. When Odo declares he is in love with Kira, my reaction all those years ago was.....They're actually committing to this!!! They are going to semi-ruin their built-up relationship for a stock writing option.

JordanK1991

Omg. Awesome work. Love those two short clips showing both Alex and Josh in tears. Superbly done!

Doctor Pulaski

Why wouldn't Odo be in love with Kira? She's hot, brave, and loyal, and he knows all her murder secrets. I'm in love with Kira, Jake's in love with Kira, every milquetoast beta male Bajoran is in love with Kira. It would be ridiculous if she felt the same way, which is why the founder fake out was fucking awesome.

MartyMc

First dip into a multi- episode trailer I believe. Nicely done!

Somethingaboutthat .DarkNightDS

So, I see most of the episodes in here but I think a few episodes didn't get represented maybe? I assume they are crying because of the events in Season 3 Episode 13. Their fave character's life was on the line. Great episode and a great redemption arc for him. One of my fave Louise Fletcher episodes so far in the show. I really like the last episode of the season but it only got a single scene in the DS9 ready room for this trailer. The DS9 has balls scene likely came from Season 3 Episode 16 though. The Grand Nagus goes woke as these guys would say LOL. I'm a little surprised that Aron's favourite scene with Avery didn't make the trailer. Can you decipher the lies from the truth? Let's find out, next time on DS9 Beyond Belief.

Doctor Pulaski

I'd say Heart of Stone was the Yesterday's Enterprise / The Offspring moment for DS9 (where the show truly "Arrives"), but the first 10 episodes of DS9 S3 were quite good also. But TNG season 3's first half was still way more hits than misses (The Defector, The Bonding, The Enemy, Deja Q), so the arc of quality of DS9 and TNG are actually remarkably similar for the first 3 seasons. Voyager is the first show to truly break the pattern TNG began with.

Axis 77

WOOF! Without getting TOO political; that last exchange, right now?! OUCH!

Somethingaboutthat .DarkNightDS

Since you mentioned the pilot. I have to throw this nugget of info in. Avery Brooks is easily the best actor to ever do the shake rattle and roll on a bridge in all of Star Trek. They literally brought DS9 actors onto Voyager to teach Voyagers actors how to do it properly. Great interview with Terry where she is asked how she knew to go left or right and she responds, we all just watched Avery. I mention this in regards to the pilot because that scene of Sisko in the escape pod is easily one of the best of the entire show. He just does it so naturally.

Altariel

I think it makes a lot of sense for Odo to fall in love with Kira.

Ian Westcott

Does having to scour more episodes (and a lot more footage) for good shots make this more difficult to put together than a single-episode trailer, or did you already have in mind the shots you wanted to use? Do you have "editor brain" when you watch an episode for the first time and immediately think "okay, I'm going to use that shot for a trailer later" and mentally file that away?

John M.

Oooh, I hope this means you liked Visionary. The episodes about Sisko as The Emissary are always underrated (on IMDB anyway). Edit: Whoops, meant Destiny. And see you gave it a C. Oh well.

Altariel

I think the trailer goes only up to 17, no?

Numinous2019

Both Auberjonois and Visitor were opposed to this development at the time. They have stated this in interviews. For exactly the same reason I stated in my original comment. Think of it this way. You cook a complicated meal that requires a fine balancing act of ingredients, seasoning and cooking methods. Then you decide....Screw it! Everyone loves curry sauce, right! And you empty a couple of cans over the meal. Curry sauce will make this meal dramatic and emotional and memorable. And it will go down great with your guests.....the audience. It's a bad idea, because it takes a nuanced relationship that fulfills certain needs in both characters and then BANG! Everyone loves romances and emotional longing and emotional blah, blah, blah. It's bad, cheap writing that hasn't established why love enters the equation and relies on the audience really liking a quick emotional hit. Visitor and Auberjonoise knew their characters. That's why they didn't agree with this development.

valen

Where do you find these epic trailer scores lol

Target Audience

In general more footage available is a good thing. As far as thinking about making a trailer during, no I usually am focused on my enjoyment, but once in a while a specific fire pen moment will definitely inspire a trailer such as “Terrorists don’t get to be heroes” from Kira in Defiant

Target Audience

Life Support/Heart of Stone being Yesterday’s Enterprise/The Offspring is very fair

Target Audience

This includes scenes from episodes 13-17, which is what we have watched so far. Nothing from the final episode.

jon bolton

There's a reason i don't give less than B for any episode of Season 3. It's one of my favourite DS9 seasons.

Ian Westcott

Yeah, we have a run of episodes here with very "generic" titles and I always get these episodes confused. Visionary, Destiny, Distant Voices, all things that could mean so many things, all titles that could refer to any of those three episodes' very-different plots.

MrTickleTrunk

"You see guys now THIS is where DS9 really..." Really glad this one lands with you guys. The trailer is badass!

#MaxwellDidNothingWrong

You shoulda glazed the take, woulda driven engagement. Oh, nevermind, I see what you did there. 34th Rule.

Somethingaboutthat .DarkNightDS

Phew, good thing I didn’t spoil too much. Sorry about telling you theres a ready room scene. That may have been a lie though.

John M.

Yes, Josh, grades are the same in Canada. :) But if my wife says, "How do you like my new hair? I love it!" and I say, "It's fine. Solid C," then "It's a positive grade!" are probably my last words.

Target Audience

I’m sure I will survive knowing there is at some point a scene in the ready room

Michael Mannisto

Lol these episodes have been great, but they're still nothing compared to what's to come. The trailers you're gonna be making for the later seasons are gonna really be something!

Somethingaboutthat .DarkNightDS

Btw, Aron’s favourite scene is in the episode you saw. Aron rehearsed with Avery the scene where he tells Sisko he wants to be in starfleet because he doesn’t want to have the same life as his dad. In rehearsal Avery never grabbed him or raised his voice. As soon as the cameras go on, Avery took the scene into a different direction, grabbed Aron and raised his voice at him. Aron’s reaction was as real as you get with the tears. Aron told this story many times about how much he appreciated Avery for doing this. Aron and Aron’s wife always spoke/speak very highly of Avery.

Capture The Moment

I think most of us that have been watching your reactions have been excited for you to get to this point in the show

Joe J

Josh, will both X-Files episodes (E.B.E & Miracle Man) post to YT this Friday?

Joe J

Okay, I'm guessing E.B.E. then, Lol.

Craig

Great work. I've watched this three times already. Haha. 😂

Deliximus

Mark down ep 20!

Kt B

I, too, am here for the authenticity. I have contempt for fake reactors and do not consider them worthy of support on any platform.

STEMBOB

Can we get a season 3 part 2 part 2 cinematic trailer for the final episodes this one was wicked.
