FIRST PATREON EXCLUSIVE SERIES (Gathering Your Suggestions) (Patreon)

Content

We would like to start our first Patreon exclusive reaction series in the coming weeks! So, we need you guys to let us know what you would be interested in! Please comment suggestions below, and to avoid duplicates, please like other comments that already name things you would like to see, rather than commenting it again. We will take the most popular suggestions and run a poll in a few days for you guys to decide!

We are really open to anything, but here's a few things to keep in mind for your suggestions:

- Star Trek will remain the #1 priority for the channel, so these exclusive reactions will most likely be posted 2-3 times a month on average. If you recommend an hour long show with 20 episodes a season and multiple seasons, that probably wouldn't be the best fit.

- Obviously nothing Star Trek will be considered as we will continue in release order as we have been. Firefly will also not be considered, as we are already reacting to that in the near future.

- This is meant as a series but that doesn't limit it to TV shows. A limited mini-series or a movie series would also be considered.

- This will be FULL UNCUT reactions, which means as usual you will need access to the material to sync up. We may release edited versions on YouTube at some point in the future, but not for a while if ever.

Feel free to leave any other questions in the comments!

A few short-run sci-fi shows to consider: * Devs * The OA * Raised by Wolves Made-for-TV movie: * The Lathe of Heaven (1980)(might be hard to find)

Gary Leyh

I loved Raised by Wolves and would enjoy a re-watch so thumbs up to that one.

Gary Leyh

Westworld? I love it but they are on season 4 now so that may be too long (and you may be watching already).

I generally hesitate to make recommendations, but this time it is solicited by you so....Dark, the Netflix series. This selection, inspired by several comments you made in reactions to TOS Season 1, and after getting to know you a bit through said reactions, I think you would enjoy. And I am curious to YOUR reactions on it. A very cerebral show that inspires a lot of thought.

Pondo

This may be an odd suggestion, as it's not Sci-Fi related. How about doing the British classic "The IT Crowd". It starts a little slow but is hilarious and has 30-minute episodes, only six episodes per season. If it has to be sci-fi then maybe watch "Black Mirror".

Brad Barter

Farscape or the original as well as updated Battlestar Galactica would be awesome.

Ken R

How about Avengers with Diana Rigg? If you are looking for short, go with Flash Gordon 1936. 15 episodes 20 mins each.

Mike S. aka Peaky Blinder

Peaky Blinders from Netflix. It's a period piece set right after WWI in England. The Peaky Blinders actually existed though this is loosely based on them. It's only 6 episodes a season and has 6 seasons / 36 episodes. Stars Cillian Murphy who is excellent and others are as well.

Ricky Johnson

I know you said no Star Trek, but what about the animated series? Technically it is next after TOS. If you were not aware of it - it could be called the 4th season of TOS. I don't remember it ever being mentioned. If not TAS, how about the CUBE trilogy of movies? Very twilight zone-esque.

Gender Confused Alien

What about the Harley Quinn tv show? Its a very fun and different, and surprisingly wholesome take on the DC universe. Plus episodes are only 20 mins and there's only a total of 26 episodes. Though they are about to release the third season very shortly.

Edweirdo

In my opinion "Westworld" first season was really good, but it went downhill after that and by the third season it was just incoherent. The new "Battlestar Galactica" was pretty good, I'd vote for that. "Farscape" is a superior show but it has many episodes, and might be too long. I would have said "Firefly" but you're going to do that on youtube.

Ron

How about: * The Prisoner (1967) (1 seasons, 17 episodes) * Severance (2022) (9 episodes) * Twin Peaks (1990): Maybe just the 1st season (8 eps)?

Did you know as the reboot ending was rushed as they were essentially cancelled that a 3rd reboot of Battlestar Galactica is being put into production? "This has all happened before & it will happen again."

I don't know anything about Severance but Twin Peaks is good - Stranger Things but with adults The Prisoner(I mentioned it in the regular comments) is good but is it so out in left field I'm not sure it would go over. You obviously think it would work or you wouldn't have listed it - do you think people can follow it? If they do The Prisoner we can all refer to ourselves as our patron number - I think I am Number 24. How about you?

Westworld season 1 is among the finest writing and acting I've ever seen on a TV show. Opinions differ on the subsequent seasons but it's definitely worth a watch!

MaskOfBorro

From my personal best-of TV show list, I'd suggest Black Mirror (an anthology with 23 episodes) and Chernobyl (a based-on-real-events mini-series of 5 episodes). Along with Westworld that was mentioned above.

If you do Westworld you have to go back and watch the original movies from the 70s - which I would be all for - they are under-rated movies. Same thing with BG - you have to start with the original.

The Prisoner is definitely a challenging show, but, for those who like unravelling a mystery, a worthwhile watch. When I watched this show back back in the 70s, the local PBS station had an aftershow analyzing each episode's minutiae. Unfortunately, I doubt that would be possible here. Still, I think it's worth a watch, and it's short enough. Be seeing you.

While the original Westworld movie is quite nice, there is no requirement to having watched it to get immersed in the show.

Gender Confused Alien

Helluva boss could also be fun. It's a pretty short YouTube animated series. Very fun.

Jonathan

Have you seen Seaquest from the 1990s? Only lasted 3 seasons so not a huge episode count.

Rhett Coates

You are watching STAR TREK-The Original Series. The "best" episodes of subsequent 'Trek series' episodes might be interesting to watch. If that sounds intriguing, may I suggest the following: "YESTERYEAR" from ST: The Animated Series (1973/1974, starring the voices of TOS cast), "THE INNER LIGHT" from ST: The Next Generation (called the favorite of a LOT of actual Trek actors from almost all of the 'Trek series'), two episodes from ST: Deep Space Nine, which are "TRIALS and TRIBBLE-ATIONS" (a hilarious and loving, time-traveling sequel from TOS Season Two's "The Trouble With Tribbles") and "FAR BEYOND THE STARS", "THE OMEGA DIRECTIVE" from ST: Voyager, "SIMILTUDE" from ST: Enterprise, and "IF MEMORY SERVES" from ST: Discovery (which is a sequel to THE CAGE and THE MENAGERIE from TOS).

Rhett Coates

For movies, have you guys seen the late 1970's classic comedy "AIRPLANE!" ....? If you like literal humor, this one's for you!
