Holy Crap! As you guys were talking about the Halloween movies, it dawned on me all the Star Trek AND Battlestar Galactica reboot connections there are (and no I’m not talking about the Shatner mask). Damn! I can’t talk about it because there are cast spoilers and so forth. As for the 1978 Halloween movie , being from LA, I guess it never dawned on me how Californian or Valley Girl Laurie’s friends were in the movie. “Totally” and “Like” were practically in 75% of every Valley Girl’s sentences. I don’t think girls in Illinois talked like that. The first 3 Halloween movies give me that Carpenter style I enjoy. Rob’s Halloween movies were “different” and that’s the nicest way I can refer to them. Halloween 2018 was good but the franchise ended with one of my least favorites. I guess the last 3 Star Wars (parts 7-9)movies are the same as The last 3 Halloween movies… the first one solid and the rest were… “different”.

Once you get past the first two the whole direction changes. I have nothing good to about these recent three. Suspenseless, is that a word? It is just watching calmly in a tension-free "story" and then a crescendo of violence and murder, then back to nothing as we wait for the next murder. I don't see that watching a guy get his tongue cut off with scissors is in any way suspenseful. The first one years ago was great, the rest no.
