It's likely that if you could actually call Joss up and "bend his ear" about this or that, half the time he'd be like... "That was TIM!!"

Gryff

Love the reactions, but I think Alex needs a hearing aide or start watching with captions lol Also welcome to one of the wettest most awkward sex scenes in TV history.

One bit of dialogue between Mal and Nandy that you may have missed. Nandy - "She's like you more than a little." Mal - "And how exactly is that?" Nandy - "She hates complications." This is a call back to a brief conversation between Kaylie and Inara in 'Ariel Ep. 9' Kaylie asks Inara about the Companion policy on dating to which Inara ruefully replies "It's... Complicated..." Also something that helped me understand Inara better in this episode is expanded universe lore from beyond the show. Inara wasn't JUST getting a yearly check up, she was there for a reason tied to a terminal illness. Which is also one of the reasons why she left Sihnon and her ambitions of being a house priestess and why she won't get involved with Malcolm.

Wash's name is Hoban Washburne. Wash is a nickname.

This is actually a contender for my least favorite episode of the show. Not that it's terrible. I'm just less able to get past what an over-the-top cartoon villain Burgess is.

David Felgate

Burgess's hover vehicle seems slow because it reminds us of Luke's landspeeder in Star Wars, and this one is much slower in comparison.

Collin Freeman

Hang in there, guys. The Serenity movie does help with some loose ends.. And it has an excellent antagonist. Can't wait for you to watch it.

I don't dislike this episode at all and think it's well done, but for whatever reason have difficulty sitting through it. I guess I can't handle tension well. 😅

Although “Heart of Gold” is the name of the bordello, it’s also a reference to Inara in her role as that stock character in Westerns, “the prostitute with a heart of gold” who’s expected to have the romance with the hero.

I think you read the moment between Kayle and Wash completely wrong. Just rewatch that scene he was just trying to reassure her in a moment of low self esteem. But what do I know.

AzoriusMage

Oh that ending was too much.
