Chapter 34 - Giant Spider. (Patreon)

I explored the area near my home first. After my fight with those monkeys, the number of monsters around here dropped significantly. I didn’t see any monsters anywhere except for that dragon.
Could it be that the monsters in this area are now afraid of me because they realized how strong I am?
No, monsters here wouldn’t be that intelligent. Most likely, only that dragon is smart enough to understand my true strength.
‘Looks like I’ll need to move farther away from here to find monsters. I just have to be careful not to accidentally wander into that dragon’s territory.’
Fortunately, my “Detection” skill helps with that.
If I sense that dragon’s distinctive and overwhelming presence, I’ll run. Yeah, I’m not afraid to admit I’m weaker. I’m not afraid to be a coward and run if necessary.
It’s better to run than risk dying, right?
After walking around the floor for a while, I finally started encountering monsters. However, they were those disgusting black slugs crawling along the ground—weak monsters that won’t give me any EXP.
‘I’m starting to wish for an anomaly. If one shows up, killing it should be enough to level me up again—I’m sure of it.’
But even after several long minutes, no anomaly appeared.
‘These things only show up when I don’t want to run into them! I hate you, God!’
And then it happened.
BOOM!
Right after I shouted that in my mind, something slammed into the wall nearby—from the other side. My detection picked up a powerful presence. I also sensed strong magical energy.
‘Is it a new anomaly!?’
I immediately boosted my “Space Step” skill to level 10 and teleported away.
Then the wall shattered. Debris flew everywhere, and a giant monster appeared.
And of course—it’s another anomaly.
Another spider anomaly! But this time, it’s a species I’ve never seen before.

‘Damn, its stats are higher than my editing limit—it’s stronger than me. I’m faster than it, but that’s about it.’
And the number of its skills is insane. A list of more than 20… 30? I don’t even know, but it’s a lot.
Many of its skills are level 8 or 9.
‘This thing has almost every magical element, just like that monkey. If I want to fight it, I’ll have to use “System Corruption” again.’
I can drain its stats just like I did with the monkey!
If I do it gradually, I can kill it!
‘It’s already detected my presence.’
Its appearance isn’t that bizarre—it’s just a giant spider. But half of its body is brown. All anomalies seem to have something brown on them.
The first anomaly I killed was that earth dragon.
Could that have been the first anomaly to appear in the labyrinth? Probably, since all anomalies so far have high-level earth magic and brown features.
Killing that thing created a kind of “zombie virus” that’s spreading wildly through the labyrinth. Insane.
I let out a sigh and looked at the spider rushing toward me at high speed.
I adjusted all my stats to 20,000, removed the edit from “Space Step,” and set “System Corruption” to level 10.
As soon as I did, the spider’s stats dropped significantly—but it’s still slightly stronger than me!
I just need to drain its stats slowly, just like I did with the monkey, and everything will be fine.
####
I looked at the spider, which was clearly agitated. I thought it might climb the walls to reach me, but it didn’t. It’s too big to do something like that.
Now that I’m sure I’m safe, I have time to think.
‘Should I do the same thing I did with the monkey? Spread webs all over the place? This spider’s body is even bigger than the monkey’s, and I don’t think it can remove my webs.’
I doubt it can move its body well enough to remove the webs if I wrap them around its back.
Its legs look stiff and don’t seem very flexible—unlike mine.
‘Alright, decided. I’ll wrap webs around the back of its body.’
Its speed stat is much lower than mine, and its detection skills are “sealed.”
I’ll be able to avoid its attacks easily!
After taking a deep breath and carefully planning my moves, I dashed forward.
The spider noticed my movement but couldn’t keep up with its many eyes. It tried to react, but it was too late. I slipped under its body while releasing my web, then climbed up the wall and reached the ceiling.
I looped around the dungeon, wrapping my web around its body.
The spider struggled, but the web didn’t come off.
Then I kept doing it repeatedly while avoiding its massive legs.
In just a few seconds, several layers of web had wrapped around its body, and the spider began to panic.

When I saw the skill level up, I got even more excited and started covering it with even more web.
Its stats started dropping much faster than the monkey’s.
The spider, which was a bit smarter than most monsters, realized it was pointless to keep fighting and tried to escape.
As it fled, it slammed its own body against the walls in an attempt to break free from my webs—but it was useless.
I couldn’t hold back my laughter.
‘I thought killing this thing would be difficult, but it’s going to be easy.’
At this rate, even that dragon might be easy with my abilities.
God really gave me some insanely overpowered skills.
