Chapter One- Contractual obligations

**Set in FSN Universe****

It was right after the Fifth Holy Grail War had ended that things in life became relatively normal again for the surviving mages involved. Shirou Emiya had promised to meet with his beloved Saber in the afterlife at the end of his journey as would-be hero, but first they shared an intense night of consummating their love for each other prior to her departure. Rin Tohsaka had been a part of that steamy night herself and had often found herself thinking about it more often than not feeling a slight thrill of perverse fascination when remembering. Eventually everyone just went their separate ways pursuing their own paths  after that final battle during the war. Rin was keeping in contact with him despite pursuing a passion of her own that took her all the way to England, to the very heart of the Mage’s Association known simply as the ‘Clock Tower, where she’d push herself into the world of Professional Magecraft applications. Having come from a well-respected, yet exalted, family name that was the Tohsaka lineage things were made easy for Rin to get her foot in the door at there. She was naturally charismatic, appealing, and all-around knowledgeable leading to a promising start among her peers. Regardless, she still spent a good couple of years establishing connections and getting to know people steadily becoming more powerful in terms of reputation. She had to branch out and make a name for herself if she wanted to make her idea a reality. And as such she was able to accrue a partnership with another Mage scientific researcher by name of Romelle Fitzgerald. He was admittedly a handsome yet average unassuming Eurasian man with slicked back dark hair and a pair of glasses on his face. He was knowledgeable in the science of Magecraft and the world of magic in general, really in touch with much of it secrets as well as being business-savvy to boot. Rin considered herself to be as crafty as he was even though he was currently in charge of the R&D department here in the Mage’s Association within the Clock Tower.

Rin Tohsaka had an idea, a dream in fact, and a very grandiose one called the ‘Ray Sphere’ project. It involved using Magic to alter the reality of time and space itself in order to travel through it into the past and maybe into the future. Similar to how the Grail is used to summon Servants from all manner of existence be it both past and present, with alternate realities and fictional fable manifesting powerful warriors. She simply wanted to make a more man-made practice out of it and have it become applicable to mages. Summoning your own favored warrior from the Grail rather than weak ones and corrupted ‘Heroic Spirits’ seemed ideal instead of leaving it to chance or needing a night-unobtainable catalyst for summoning.  Much of her trust in the sacred object had shifted due to all the events that transpired in the last Grail War and the one before that. The project had to be done in a professional manner and after forming magical contracts and sealing partnerships, additionally securing Romelle’s resources to make it happen she got to work on the science experiment in making it a reality. Magical contracts were very binding and with their own set of absolute rules as well as loopholes, with these in place and with Romelle’s help she’d secure a means to safely fund her project and have enough resources for it to succeed.

Still, Rin had come to that man to propose the idea in the first place, explain the science, sign an absolute magical contract, and so on, all while using her charm and people skills to really influence backers to get on board. Needless to say everything worked and she had as much of Romelle’s funding as she could at her disposal. It seemed almost too easy in her opinion, but now she had full backing for her project. The only real reluctant part of this arrangement would be that she’d need to sign the magical contract in order to begin, should things fail there would be a price Rin would have to pay on her hands. Fortunately she worded every letter of the document so that she was not to succumb to anything humiliating or be rendered destitute by the clause, but alas much of the collateral was left up to interpretation as well as Romelle’s desires from her.

Millions in investment money lost and you have to pay the consequences, literally.” He said again making Rin’s eyebrow twitch as she slammed the parchment down onto the desk with infuriated look on her face and a blush on her cheeks.

“But this says your ‘recompense’ can’t possibly be something life-threatening like a lifetime of back-breaking labor, or any form of permanent Spiritual or Magical harm. Your punishment is left up to me, the Mage’s association already has my back on this, but don't worry I won’t be doing the punishing. In a way ...” He added making her feel  unsafe and hugged her arms protectively while jerking her head to the side in annoyance and slight despair.

‘Loopholes….he set this up from the beginning, the snake. To think I have to perform some kind of casting couch interview before finding out what he really has planned for me. It can’t be anything decent, I can tell already.’ She mulled to herself bitterly noticing he handed out a piece of paper for her. 

Rin reluctantly got up and took it from him before reading its contents, it stated a date, a location, and the details for her debut in an adult video of some kind. “I knew full well, you would, Rin-chan. Well enough indeed. I’m very eager to ‘Oversee’ the remuneration take place myself.”

“I said I promised, didn’t I? A Tohsaka never goes back on her way after all, my honor was on the line.” She answered and Romelle nodded before picking up the progged camera and hauling it over to be stationed in front of the couch.

“Well it certainly serves you well, you don't want to back out on a magical contract after all. Now then, let’s get down to the Interview segment of our little ‘Activity’.
