Finally completed this art trade with my friend Kavita and I really love how it turned out!! Finally got a drawing of Rhaegar and Elia after YEARS. 

Also noticed I have this habit of giving Rhaegar shorter hair in younger depictions 🤔 I guess he needed a fresh cut for his wedding day

This is so beautiful!! Yet it’s also so tragic. Elia looks sooooo happy and yet to me, Rhaegar’s expression doesn’t match. It’s like a peak into their future.....it’s bittersweet! Ugh! I love how much detail you put in your work, Naomi! Even if it’s not intentional, you always give us something to ponder on with your Asoiaf work! 💖

I'm surprised you didn't draw Rheagar in his House colors. Why white and gold instead of black or red?

Several reasons, it’s supposed to be a depiction of their wedding so I wanted Rhaegar in white and Elia in red, I was going to have Rhaegar in black and white but thought maybe gold might be better and make the mood of the image warmer. I also thought it would be nice to see Rhaegar in different colors than his house colors for once!
