“The things…Mother have mercy, I do not know how to speak of them…they were…worms with faces…snakes with hands…twisting, slimy, unspeakable things that seemed to writhe and pulse and squirm they came bursting from her flesh. Some were no bigger than my little finger, but one at least was as long as my arm…oh, Warrior protect me, the sounds they made…”

This scene is really hard for me. This kid was way in over her head. Can you imagine the things she saw or experienced whilst in Valyria?

NaomiMakesArt

I'm DYING to know what she saw, and what it was that managed to take a chunk out of Balerion the Black fucking Dread. I hope George tells us someday, and it's not just a mystery

Laria Hicks

Right!!! And if I'm not mistaken, is she not the only one to travel there and back?

NaomiMakesArt

Well Euron claims he has but I think he’s fibbing. 😂😂😂 but hey, he is probably infested with worms too!!!

Ewwwww you have a point but ewwww 🤣🤣🤣🤣 yeah I always doubt anything a greyjoy says

SUCH a horrifying and sad moment, but you have illustrated that perfectly. The half-dragonesque faces on the worms are really creepy, and her hands look to me like she was struggling until the end. SO HORRIBLE D: But also whets my appetite for more Valyria! Fantastic job as always <3

Holy hell, this is mind-blowing! Aerea deserved better and I'm curious what she saw and what lurks behind the ruins of the Freehold. Girl was 13 and *survived* the horrors, she deserved the world. Amazing art Naomi!

Poor baby!!! Such a horrifying moment in the books, and it really showcases Martin's love of horror. You captured it very well and I'm super grossed out. Congratulations!
