Heya residents of Woodcreek!!

Yesterday I spent half the day going completely insane working on Stacey’s lore and reworking a lot of things. Especially her relationship with her online friend Maddy and the hiking trip they take together that ends up changing Stacey forever.

I want to tell the story of Stacey and Maddy in a found footage kind of way in Welcome to Woodcreek with old chat logs, diary and blog entries, reddit posts, photos and Branford’s truck radio haha.

I’ve had Stacey’s lore and the reason why she is the way she is for a few years now and I really love that version. The only problem is that it’s very extreme and psychologically deep, and that just… doesn’t really fit what Killer Cutie is.

It would work great in a serious, dark graphic novel, but not in a comic that is part slasher, part coming of age and part porn haha XD

So yesterday I finally came up with a new solution for Stacey’s backstory that is extremely campy, violent, very sexual and a little funny — and because of that it fits Killer Cutie SO much better. It also connects Stacey’s story perfectly with the dark history of Woodcreek, which I’m really happy about.

I’m going to start working on the found footage content in the next days, and also on a character design for Maddy (I’ve had her in my head for two years and she’s super important to Stacey and I’ve literally never drawn her before haha).

Stacey and Maddy get lost while hiking when a sudden snowstorm hits. Maddy falls and gets badly injured. Stacey manages to drag her into a cave, where they’re trapped for days and weeks without food.

Maddy eventually gives Stacey permission to eat her if she dies. She dies smiling, and that smile burns itself into Stacey forever.

When the storm finally clears, Stacey follows a river down to a highway. Branford finds her, half frozen and out of her mind, and takes her in and nurses her back to health.
