Contest for a character design! (July/2026) (Patreon)

This month's prize character was based on the poll-winner "Portal", which is a painting by Beksinski! I tried to bring in the color palette and some mysterious vibes (a fox seemed appropriate for that), though she could possibly cook up an actual portal too.

In order to participate, you must answer the prompt:

If you had to describe this character with a scent or a flavor (such as lavender, cotton candy etc.) what would it be? You can list 1-3 scents/flavors in total.

Submit your entry in the comments before it turns August (in -12UTC, the last timezone in the world). The winner will become the new owner of the character and receive plain and transparent background versions of the image. I'll announce the winner at the start of August.

I'll pick the winner based on how creative/fitting/funny or otherwise interesting I think the entry is! Hope the prompt isn't too weird this time lmao

Raelcun

The scent of rain after a storm gives way to a clear night sky, mixed with tinges of ozone similar to when there's heavy electricity in the air. She gives a unique combination of scents that are comforting together but also the distinct impression of the remnants of a lightning storm.

Vagrant

She seems like she'd smell of petrichor, moss, and a hint of dessicated leaves.

Dalmonite

She washes regularly enough with soap smelling of intense cooling medicine, but it also opens the nostrils of hints of gunpowder due to her powers.

River James

Predominantly cedar, with notes of sandalwood and blue sage. Natural and woodsy with a little mystery, very pleasant and a touch seductive.

Regis Manatur

If I had to imagine a scent for her it would be. Incense, floral tea, and and a hint of vanilla orchids.

Nurgle

Portals tend to have some mysterious wind around them, so this fox probably has her fur perpetually fluffed up. Thus, she can only smell like a warm, fresh pastry, a blueberry danish specifically. This comes combined with a constant aroma of coffee, because she needs it to guard her portal.

Nuwa Nightstone

She smells like freshly lit incense sticks

At a passing scent one would catch the almost smokey autumn and assume her like other foxes of the area. Closer, nose in her fur, it would flip spectacularly to the piercing, almost comforting aroma of medicine.

Amione

The Gentle scent after a Rainstorm, with the slightest odor of charred fur hidden beneath it.

Blaise

This fox reminds me of a lovely chai! I imagine sitting in the evening with a fresh-steeped cup, savoring the warm sweetness of cloves, looking up at the stars and smelling the ozone in the crisp, cool night air. That’s what this fox says, to me.

She smells like arabica coffee beans and Bakhoor incense, giving off a complex earthy scent that grabs and holds your attention without being too overpowering. That said, she'd also have a taste of menthol, burning the inside of your mouth with an icy chilling sensation like a mystical otherworldly flame that leaves you wanting for more.

I imagine her having a scent/flavor of blueberries with a supple hint of a lunar regolith, the stuff portal fluid is made of (it smells like spent gunpowder). :3

Chroma Commander

Taste would be that of a s’more with under the stars. (preferably a little charred) There’s a quality of taste that changes when surrounded by the night sky. The smell would be that of falling into a bed of flowers, you’re discombobulated and you don’t know where you are but you know it’s nice.

She smells faintly of spices and vanilla, like the comfort of normalcy mixed with the scents of lands far away. You dont know where her last journey took her, but her tail carries the aroma of many cultures, and each journey brings something new

I would think that her magic smells distinctly of ozone, and otherwise around her would be like certain nebulae: ethyl formate - as you get closer to her, you get the smell of rum (though she doesn't drink!) and the taste of raspberries.

I think the flavor she'd have is primarily blue nerds candy, mixed with a camomile aftertaste!

She looks like bits of her would taste like hard cady Blue Raspberry. She's even got a big candy in her fluffy tail! Just imagining now drooling over some blue raspberry, yum!

Jasmine tea with agave nectar and freshly made lychee jelly, topped with spirluna to get that nice blue color!

Chocolate with a juicy fruit interior, and for some reason I'm imagining the blue just being food coloring.

I'd imagine she smells like my favorite B&BW fragrance, Gingham. Gingham's strongest note is clementine, with freesia being almost as strong, topped with the faint smell of violets.

I think she would smell like cloves wine or mead, a very mystical relaxed scent reminiscent of a desert market.

There are two scents to this lovely fox - the scent of fresh pomegranate seeds, sweet and lovely. As well as the scent of lightning cracking through the sky in a mild rain with hardly any wind. A mix of ozone and petrichor.

For a mix of scents and or flavors: I'd like to imagine it's a mix of coffee, hazelnut with a touch of blueberries.

Probably smells like one of those fancy candles that would be named something like " Sparkling riverside forest rock adventure" you're not sure what that's meant to smell like but all you know is that it smells really good lol.

I think she'd taste like blue lotus, burnt honey, and cardamom. Floral and euphoric at first. Spend some time with her, and there's something warmer underneath. Sweet, a little burnt at the edges, and just a bit spicy ^^

I imagine the blue on her is a berry based paint. So that would be the dominant flavor. She smells like fresh or slightly fermented fruit, like typical paint of that kind

I imagine her smelling akin to spiced bourbon! Something sharp like black pepper, paired with the warmth of cloves and cinnamon and a subtle herbal/minty undertone aged in an earthy, charred oak... I like to think she collects these ingredients on her travels to concoct her finest potions!

I think she'd probably smell quite herby, that or fresh cut brush vegetation, unless it's raining and she'll probably just have soggy dog smell

She has two scents that change on how far you are from her it starts out as a sweet syrup smell and as you get closer to her it starts to change to smell like it’s just after it’s just rained to bring you to a calm feeling

Night Star

Looking at her, I imagine that her scent would be like a mix of incense and agar wood, basically a sort of spiritual and earthy smells

Meeting them would be like walking through an old library. At first, you feel the smell of old books, worn from years gone by… but then you feel a breeze rushing through the window. A crisp and pristine smell of new life that still breaths through the hallways.

I'd say she has a earthy smell, akin to the one you can find when it rains during a particularily hot summer evening. Maybe with a touch of ozone if she were to open a portal! As for taste... Tiramisu comes to mind <3

I think she would taste and smell a bit like the galaxy itself, which astronomers have confirmed to be raspberries and rum! (True fact :3)

I would imagine the bulk of her brown fur to smell similar Her belly with the scent of a lake. And the tip of her tail, a pleasant mix of both, a forest pond.

The earthly comforts of pinewood and cinnamon. A woodland creature at first glance, and yet alien. This duplicity is cinnamon, they can be sweet or dangerous.
