Oh my. This is heartbreaking, but exactly why I love this story, it makes you appriciate the little kindness you can find in such a grim place. I am glad to see more characters being fleshed out, no pun intended. If hemlock truly is iredeemable in her hatred, it just goes to show how deeply these things can cut into ones soul.
