Month end progress report (Patreon)

Well, another month is off the calendar. Unfortunately, it didn't work out too well for me, because I was in bed with the flu for a week and a half, and I'm still not fully recovered, although fortunately I only have a bit of a cough now. So neither Distant nor Rise progressed as I would have liked.
This won't be a problem for now, of course, as Rise Chapter 10 doesn't have a release date yet, and won't for a while. And the new Distant Horizon update is on schedule to arrive tomorrow. However, the May update may be a bit delayed, as there is also a week off in early April due to travel. However, as I'm doing quite well with this game, it's far from certain. However, as I'm getting quite good at making this game, it's far from certain.
Well, that's enough about Distant for now, as I've posted more about it recently. As for Rise, rendering work on Chapter 10 has begun, although the writing is not yet complete. But that doesn't stop anything, thank goodness. Interestingly, I managed to take one of the biggest pictures you can see below. Although you can't see much, I've put together a complete airport with service buildings, planes and whatnot. And of course, there will be more pictures of this location, as Cora will not only visit the airport with Rick, but also with Miranda, Beth and Daniel, and in one of the storylines she will go there alone.
It's quite a challenge, because it really wasn't easy to get the picture together - even though the rendering itself only took 20 minutes. That's a long time to delete all the unnecessary stuff that can tie up memory. But it takes a lot of time to delete all the unnecessary stuff that can clog up the memory. And the funny thing is that I build up a complex scene and then erase everything that's out of the camera's view. I had to be careful here, though, because Rick and Cora's glasses were reflecting, and it was certainly noticeable when the hangar and the plane disappeared.
In other news, in Chapter 10, I return to the method of doing things from the point of view of one of the characters. For example the dialogues. I used to do it a lot in the early chapters, but then I kind of stopped. Now I rediscovered it while making Distant Horizon, and well, it saves a lot of time. So I don't know why I stopped doing that.
Well, I guess that's it for now. With Distant Horizon v0.3 coming tomorrow, you'll find out how our heroes outsmart the ship's AI, and maybe get some answers to some of the questions. As usual, it will not be very long, but I hope you will like it. And the Rise of the Crime Lord is under construction, and I'll try to show more of it next month.
