This episode is a hard watch for me. Shane and Elena annoy the hell out of me in this episode, no matter how many times I watch it 😭 Shane is a lunatic and Elena was pissing me off trying to explain herself to Stefan, when she didn't deserve to and it sucks that he still tired to protect her. Rebekah is amazing in this episode, I grew to really love her character so fast.

shane making bonnie dependent on him is nasty, elena calling for stefan after she was just apologizing to him didn’t make sense, and then stefan still debating on if elena actually loves damon at the end of the ep. doesn’t make sense either because she literally said she did under compulsion..

Idk what Elena wanted from Stefan, he was very patient and supportive in the beginning of her transformation. After she went to Damon for help with drinking blood Stefan knowing how she is was worried about her killing ppl and what that would do to her psyche. Ion think Stefan viewed the cure as “fixing a broken toy” when it comes to Elena but more as he knew she never wanted to become a vampire. The episode where Stefan is figuring out the cure Elena writes in her diary about feeling hopeless and not her self, so Stefan getting the cure to fix her was aligned with her consciousness. Also him wanting to be human with her to start a family was another reason why he wanted it. I think the only thing he could’ve done better was reassure her that he would still love her if she stayed a vampire.

I think when Elena says she feels “free” with Damon, it’s because he accepts every version of her, human, vampire, innocent or not. With Stefan, she feels like she has to stay “innocent Elena,” and whenever she changes, he treats it like something’s wrong. That’s why she couldn’t go to him when she wanted to drink human blood. Even her Katherine hallucination reflects this, that unapologetic version of herself. At the core, Elena just wants to be who she’s becoming, and with Stefan, it always feels like she needs fixing. Even without the sire bond, I don’t think she could’ve fully explored her vampire side with him.

The sire bond still exists, they only found a way around it by separating from each other. As of right now whatever Damon says Elena still will have to do.

Mair, if you want Elena to leave Stefan alone, then Stefan should leave Elena alone too. Why is he obsessed with her and finding the cure for her still, even after he said he doesn't care about her and Rebekah should erase his memories of her. So which one is it, Stefan?!
