😂😂 What I love about this relationship is that when Sophie and Mari be fighting to talk over each other to basically say the same thing. Like even when they are disagreeing on something they are just saying the same thing in different ways 😭😭😭

Most likely King left after beating Seven cause he’s looking for Starr. Iyesha’s a bad mom but the reason she told Starr to take Lyric (the little girl) and Kenya (?) is because she wants them safe. She is pushing them away to get them away from King and then she distracted King. It was important for Starr to thank her because in the book Starr got mad at Khalil’s mom, Brenda, for being on Tv when she wasn’t apart of Khalils life consistently and Starr’s mom told her (Starr) that no matter what that she was his mom and she’s hurt for her son. It was kinda like a full circle moment, Starr recognizing that being a bad mom doesn’t mean lack of complete care. Im paraphrasing cause I read the book in 2018 and could only manage to get through it once.

I feel like the movie made Sabrina’s character more sympathetic but in the book….she was very much racist. The other friend, can’t remember her name but she’s Asian, talked to Starr about how Sabrina would make a micro-aggressions against her too after the conversation about the cops life mattering too. They both ended up dropping Sabrina as a friend and stayed cool.

This movie is so goated and it teaches us black people so much because some of us don’t know how to handle ourselves when it comes to cops! I love black movies that educate and advocate for black people! Loveeee this movie down

I don't wanna spoil but Sophie, nothing in Sinners could really happen. I feel like its labelled as a horror so that you are surprised by the genre of it ( I also don't wanna spoil the genre). Or Mair can watch it by himself, there was a time Mair we used to watch reactions with just you,! Though I would love to hear Soph's intellectual takes cause its a very thought - provoking movie.

The wardrobe in movies are sometimes generic because some logos can be distracting but in this case, the filmmakers didn't want a style to be attached to any specific region of the U.S. which is why the city Garden Heights is fictional even though T.H.U.G. was filmed in Georgia.
