I think the reason why Ginny and Austin take it differently is bc of the age difference. Ginny knows more things, and how bad this situation actually is. For Austin he is young and easily manipulated into just protecting his mom at all costs even when it’s wrong.

Georgia defenders down bad rn 😭 I’m still on her side tho like that’s my sistah, I’m sorry! And I really can’t fault Georgia for the way she reacts to the grandma bc she has such a controlling personality & it’s clear that she wants to be the one to make the decisions and once you relinquish that “power”…..how is Georgia ever supposed to get it back? Like I’ve seen grandmothers try to basically have a second chance at raising a kid via their grandkids & it seems like that’s part of her intentions even tho she does have other good intentions. Especially since it’s clear shes never liked Georgia. And she’s constantly disappointed in Zion’s decisions so Ginny seems like a clean slate that she can mold. Georgia didn’t want that for Ginny and I respect that. And the murder? …….“What murdah?” 🤣

Fun fact, at least for me, the girl Max originally had a crush on and Sophie date in another show called Utopia falls. They’ve been in a couple shows together and I always laugh when I notice.
