Hoggy is joined by Patron Mark Goldberg to talk about his Rangers life:

  • His Grandpa Victor, master Bridge player and genesis of this story

  • His father Eddie, club DJ with more than a story to tell (he should come on, right?)

  • Growing up as a little boy with Michael Mols as his idol

  • Childhood and UEFA Cup Finals, secondary school and Walter, Uni and 2012+

  • Mark Warburton helping the fire, stoked further by Steven Gerrard

  • Pandemic, a life changing move and 55 - right through to now and watching from London, ever close to his dad

Great chat - and hope you all enjoy x

Andy Barnett

How’s it going Mark? Are you related to Jamie and Richard Goldberg in Glasgow ?

John Davidson

Would love to hear from Eddie. And Mark spoke fantastically well. Great listen as always.

Mark Boyd

Re the "celtc fans trapdoor" - I was working that day and me, another bear and about 20 of them were in the crew room on break/post-shift watching it on TV. Lovenkrands scored, me and the bear go mad, turn round and EVERY ONE of them had disappeared! Bizarre! Also, mon' Eddie, give us some chat!

It was my 21st the night before and I was DYING, as was my whole household and family. Needless to say, a few curers were had following a hungover trip to see the team come back with the league trophy!

Andy McG

Look forward to hearing Eddie.

Jordan McKay

I’m 28 too and favourite player was also Michael Mols 😂

Tamus

Hope Rita is listening

Listening to this on the train up the road from London, a great listen. Would have to hear Eddie on as a guest. Mark was an excellent guest also.

Lynn Houston

Eddie come on down please, Mark your family should be very proud of you an amazing young man ❤️💙🤍 thank you for your story .. Lynn 👍🏻

Andra

Really enjoyed today’s pod. Mark was an excellent guest with some great experiences to share. Sounds like his dad would also have some interesting stories to share. Would love to hear them both on together.

John Walker

Great listen well done for coming on Mark. Now it's time for your old man. Brings back memories for myself as I had 16 years in London from 95. The cock tavern at Smithfields was the place then.

William mcadam

Cracking listen. I had the old rover season ticket.

Tom

Mark sounds like a good fella, I want to hear Eddie's stories about Magaluf.😂

Rona Bluebell

Loved this, really good listen. Thanks for sharing, Mark.

Oh and as someone who lived in London and is well established in the North London Jewish network as an honoury member, I’m sure we know some of the same families 🥰

Martin Macdonald

Hoggy you defo have some competition on the good to listen to voices. Only started this and Mark is a good listen.

Graham McCallum

Hi Hoggy I was the fella after the Leicester Square show that approached you, and asked if I could come on the show. You asked me to make sure I got in touch so here I am. 😊

Allan Osborne

I remember being very upset at the sales of Willie Johnston and Colin Stein back in 1972, but another favourite player of mine was Quinton Young, probably down to a superb winner he scored against them in 1975 and his unusual first name! Great show btw, with a very entertaining chat between the two of you 👍

Hoggy

Mark was good eh? He’s a wee bit posh. But brilliant with it 😂 Ultimately the Hamper is an audition. To take over from me and I can retire 😂

Martin Macdonald

Absolutely superb mate. Very well spoken and a joy to listen to. I can see you getting your own show.

Martin Macdonald

Well he is from the mearns what you expect 😂. Hoggy if love to come on again when your struggling. I have re thought my Rangers 11 minus Alex Clelland 😂

Trev @JimmyBell_Loyal

Mark’s got a bit of a potty much on him huh……I fucking love it!! 🤭

Mark Goldberg

Hahaha I’ll take that. Believe it or not, I’ve had to tone the accent down since I moved away! My first few meetings in my first job down here I thought I’d have to pack it in!

Trev @JimmyBell_Loyal

I’ll be honest with you. I normally prefer the Q&A style hampers but I’m so glad I listened to this. Very interesting and god knows how many times I’ve walked over that bar under London Bridge with realising
