After last week's Rangers life with Mark Goldberg (Mark was excellent!), Hoggy is back to discuss your thoughts now that the international break is over.

9 league games and (hopefully) 2 cup games to go. 11 games in 8 weeks with a squad that welcomes back a number of players. Same can be said of that lot.

Looking forward to it? Bricking it? Both?

Strap yourselves in! Enjoy x

Cheers for the info Graham and thanks for answering Hoggy. Absolutely love that stat 🥳

Don’t know if this would be possible but being a football historian I’d love to know if it would be possible to see where Bill Struth’s Rangers teams would’ve been in the world rankings

John Smith

Totally agree. I think the dugouts should always be on focus. It’s why I love watching games at Tynecastle because the camera is always facing the managers.

Simon

100% move the cameras to the Govan and face the main stand.

The way to give the kids a go is to have a leaner squad - say 20-22 - though rather than trading down you have the same budget. If the scouting team do their jobs the quality increases - quantity decreases. Rangers isn’t a hard place for youth players - it’s the fact we only play them when we have an injury crisis thus the quality around them is lessened makes it look the case. Scottish football is pretty poor - if we can’t play Livingston at home with 10 senior players and Bailey Rice we’d be as well binning the youth system.

Gregg

I’d be looking to renegotiate the option on Cortes or do another loan (with option). Sample size is too small to shell out £4m for me

93 points wins you the league under this format Only time that wasn’t the case was Celtic in 02/03 when we won on goal difference. Both of us had exceptional sides which ain’t the case this season 93 points is always the target

Colin playing Hardcore Feelings on the Daily Update last Friday took me right back to the mid nineties, so I sat at the mid nineties for much of the journey from Tarbet to Balloch 😉

Graham McCallum

I would love them to move the main gantry to show off our marvellous main stand

mark wyper

Great suggestion about having the TV cameras being positioned in the sandy jardine stand looking towards the main stand , would anyone at heart and hand be able to find out why this changed .

Mark Goldberg

Saturday mornings done right! Great pod Hoggy. Can’t wait to head back to Ibrox with my old man today. This put me right in the mood. First game this season for me. Too long.

Steven Renton

Fucking YES Hoggy. I've been annoyed about the camera direction for years. Get the orcs to fuck out of shot and the highlight the magnificent main stand.

Scott broadley

Great idea wrt camera getting moved to show the full view of our iconic main stand

I thought more than i should have about the league expansion question. I think unless we dropped 2 OF games and went to 18 teams/34 games that 14 teams would work best. Play each other twice and split after 26 games The 'Super 7s' (i'm trademarking that🤭) play twice giving the same 38 game total. Each team has 2 'by-weeks' post split as only 6/7 can play. 2 up 2 down promotion/relegation. Benefits: No more 3 homes 1 away or vice versa nonsense. Sky still get their 4 OF. Less games pre-split more jeopardy in that phase. 5 teams guaranteed 2nd OF visits. Scheduling post split should be easier. That gives more scope for television. Less repetition against lower quality oppostion for us. Top 7 plus '8th' could get seeded in Cups following season. 2 taken up from Championship still leaves a good level of competition there. Maybe there's negatives I can't see but a simple change and the split could work for the game instead of throwing up the same old problems every year.

Great shout about the gantry, Hoggy. 👌

Craig

I’d keep the cameras where they are but I’d be moving them to BF&BR1&2. On league reconstruction I liked that idea of 4 groups of four. Finally been saying for years should just have all the internationals at the end of the season!

Trev @JimmyBell_Loyal

If Sima is out of contract after next season, we get him on loan again then sign him on a permanent deal

Hoggy

1 more win. 7 wins to go…..

David Booth

Great show as always Hoggy. Couple of my much valued opinions....(!) Lundstrum contract is not a completely black and white decision. As a club I hope we have a value if what he (and every player in the squad) is worth to us, whilst I am sure JL has a figure in mind he wants to be paid. If these work together then he stays, if they don't marry up he has to go. Regarding the youth system...I think we have two very different types of young player we have to manage as a club. Your elite players that have the potential to go on and play at the highest level (Gilmour, Patterson, Rice(?)) we need to get into the squad as early as possible to push their value up, be it through negotiation or tribunal. After that we need to start bringing through more McCausland's - players that whether they are first choice or squad players are part of the squad over a number of years and don't let us down

Craig

Great pod as usual, you mentioned that the tv cameras were moved when we were redoing the main stand in the 90s. I can’t remember that happening, I sat in the GR and the only time I can remember cameras was euro games in the 2000’s that watched the managers.

Craig

Meant to say I believe the cameras are where they are is because of the sun, when we get it, it doesn’t hit the gantries at the moment.

Darren Littlejohn

I love the idea but think Brighton have another year option plus they’re too business savvy to let that happen. I’d offer the €7m figure they paid for him and see how that goes

Darren Littlejohn

The club have already stated BF4&5 although I agree with keeping cameras away from them

Steve Stewart

Would be madness to sell Tav for £5m
